Win To See Sanctuary In NYC In NYC On 7/10/2013

Logo - Sanctuary

The Scoop: The band Sanctuary were Metal leaders in their Seattle location and were delivering a type of Metal that was closely in line with their regional counterparts Queensryche. They were the part of a new underground Metal scene that was growing stronger by the day but they would soon disband with their singer forming Nevermore. The idea of a Metal world with Sanctuary in it once again was revisited in 2010 and now we find this reunion continuing and new shows and music being worked on. They’ll be hitting NYC and thanks to the fine folks at Livenation, I am proud to announce that some PiercingMetal fans will be a part of the show on the house. Read further on how to participate.

When and Where: Wednesday July 10th @ The Gramercy Theatre (127 East 23rd Street, NYC)

To Participate: Sanctuary is a band that is seeking to make the climb to Metal heights once again and they are not the only band that should do something like this. Let’s be creative and put our thinking caps on by asking for two bands that you would like to see re-assemble and get back to some proper touring and recording of new music for their fans. Tell me what you think would need to be done to make it work (please only enter the requested two). I will be responding to the winning comments directly to please be sure to enter your real full name in the comment form along with an email address (but not in the comment itself). It also never hurts to subscribe to the comments for the duration of the contest so you know if you won or not. Go get ‘em.

Restrictions: While all PiercingMetal.com contests are open to our regional site readers, we tend to look at the new responders first in order to give everyone a fair shot at enjoying a show on the provider and us. Of course we still encourage all to respond because you never know just how many tickets we are offering but do only enter once (all comments are moderated so will not appear instantly). Please note that Guest and Anonymous comments while approved are NOT eligible to win the contest.

  1. 1. Dismember. They’re break up 2 years ago seemed to come out of no where. They have been the most consistent band in the Swedish death metal scene, and I feel they still have a lot to offer. Perhaps after some time focusing on new projects the band will reunite once again.

    2. Spirit Caravan. Wino is certainly a busy man, fronting Saint Vitus, having his own solo band, and now playing in The Obsessed once again. The Obsessed recently came back together again to play some shows (they ruled at Maryland Death Fest). Any fan of Wino has to wonder whether Spirit Caravan will tour once again. Dave Sherman when on to form Earthride, while Gary Isom went to play in various doom metal bands. Dave and Gary currently play together in a band called Weed Is Weed. I don’t think it’s a big stretch of the imagination that Spirit Caravan will tour once again, even if it’s just of a short amount of time.

    1. Thanks for the submission Daniel, and congratulations as you have won a ticket for the Sanctuary show on Wednesday at Gramercy Theatre. Please stay tuned to the comments for the full details on how to claim it.

  2. 1. Nevermore. They need to cut the BS and get back to recording and touring. Loomis is awesome, but his riffs need Warrel’s vocals. They stuck together through the 90s when nobody was listening to metal. All their releases were masterpieces. Warrel is a genius, we need all the Warrel we can get in all his forms: Nevermore, Sanctuary, Solo. It seems Sanctuary will be just a festival band, with the occasional NYC or west coast warm-up show.

    2. At the Gates. Despite the occasional live show, no new recordings. The Haunted just doesn’t cut it, they are far inferior to the godly AtG. They are all alive and all are still playing, I don’t see what the problem is. They need to ditch whatever projects or bands they are wasting time with and give the metal world what they want…a new AT THE GATES album NOW.

Additional bands that need to get back together: VIOLENCE, Exciter (with original lineup), Holy Terror (will never happen now that Keeth Dean is gone), Coroner needs to give us a new album. Trouble with Eric Wagner. Possessed with original line-up, and of course Sepultura with original line-up. They all need to ditch the personal issues and get back to making great albums that we all want to hear!

    1. Thanks for the submission Max, and congratulations as you have won a
ticket for the Sanctuary show on Wednesday at Gramercy Theatre (for next time please stick to the premise though as you made it easier for those who might have been stumped with your additional picks). Please
stay tuned to the comments for the full details on how to claim it.

  3. 1 White Lion. made some great music back in day. Vito and Mike need to bury he hatchet and get back together. Would be a big thing. Fans have been yearning for this for yrs. Mane Attraction their last cd was awesome. Get them in same place and make amends and get out and tour. Lots of money to be made.

2 Seduce. The biggest band out of Detroit as per them in movie Decline of Western Civilazation METAL YRS movie. Great 3 piece who made two killer cds. Needs to be F/U to movie thus bringing them back and touring and new cd would be nice too.

    1. Thanks for the submission Chris, and congratulations as you have won a ticket for the Sanctuary show on Wednesday at Gramercy Theatre. Please stay tuned to the comments for the full details on how to claim it.

  4. 1. Celtic Frost. CF was a very powerful and influential band, and even though after their break up, Triptykon was formed, I still think Celtic Frost had a lot more to give to the fans.

    2. God Dethroned. Key band in the dutch black metal scene, could have stuck around a little longer. Always liked their stuff.

    1. Thanks for the submission Chris, and congratulations as you have won a ticket for the Sanctuary show on Wednesday at Gramercy Theatre. Please stay tuned to the comments for the full details on how to claim it.

  5. 1. Nevermore obviously. I think Warrel Dane called Jeff Loomis, “too fly for a white guy,” at the last sanctuary show.

    2) Violence – I know Robb has Phil again, but lets see them write a full on thrash album. MH is awesome, but that would be a nice surprise

    1. Thanks for the submission Ian and congratulations as you have won a ticket for the Sanctuary show on Wednesday at Gramercy Theatre. Please stay tuned to the comments for the full details on how to claim it.

    1. Thanks for the submission Greg, brief but to the point so congratulations as you have won a ticket for the Sanctuary show on Wednesday. Please stay tuned to the comments for the full details on how to claim it.

  6. This contest is closed so please no more entry submissions. Congratulations to all of our winners in Gregory, Ian, Daniel, Chris, Max and Chris. On the night of the show, please go to the venue box office and show proper identification. They will then give you the ticket to enter the show. Should you encounter any issues, please politely ask for a venue manager and reference that this contest was done in cooperation with Livenation Marketing and PiercingMetal – I will be at the show also, and look forward to rocking with all of you.

  7. Tad Morose – A great power metal band who has put out quality album after quality album. They had quite a buzz going for them when they played ProgPower and opened for Edguy in NYC in 2004. Ever since then they seemed to drop off the face of the earth. Their last album ‘Modus Vivendi was by far my favorite.

Savatage – Yeah, I know we have Trans Siberian Orchestra and tons of platinum records but when it comes to metal there has always been something special about this band. If TSO takes up the bulk of time atleast please your long time fans and do some summer festivals and perhaps and stateside show or two. All the guys seem to miss it according to interviews. If its a Paul O’Neil thing I wish he’d loosen the chains a bit and let the guys have some fun.

    1. Hey man that was probably my favorite of the submissions because I have long loved what Savatage brought to the Metal table and think that Tad Morose stopped giving us the Metal far too soon. Congratulations as you have also won a ticket to the show on Wednesday, please stay tuned to the comments to find out how to claim it.
