Win To See Animals As Leaders @ Irving Plaza on 3/2/2014

Poster - Animals As Leaders at Irving Plaza - 2014

The Details: The instrumental prowess of Animals As Leaders is something that will definitely appeal to fans of Progressive Metal everywhere because it’s just so on point and focused. I’ve caught them a couple of times over the years since their 2007 inception and can tell you that it puts you in a specific musical head for sure. They’re currently on tour in celebration of their upcoming album “The Joy Of Motion” and not only will they be bringing along After The Burial and more to the stage of Irving Plaza, but thanks to the fine folks at Livenation, I am once again happy to say that some lucky PiercingMetal readers will be able to enjoy the show for free. Read more below.

When and Where: Sunday, March 2nd at Irving Plaza (17 Irving Place, NYC)

To Participate: I’ll keep this an easy one for you readers once again. Just tell me three reasons why this tour kicks so much ass for you and why you need to be there. You can spread it around all of the bands that are performing or just the main one of AAL. Convince me that you need to be there essentially. I will be picking from the responses that I like best and letting them know directly below it. Please make sure to enter your full real name in the comment form along with an email address in case we need to reach you. It also never hurts to subscribe to the comments for the contests duration and please only enter once to avoid confusion. Winners receive a single ticket only and this contest will end promptly on Friday 2/28. Bring it on.

Restrictions: All of the PiercingMetal contests are open to our loyal readers, Facebook Page Likers and Twitter Followers but that being said we are still looking for the new names first. Don’t let that stop you from entering of course but we do keep track based on the overall demand for this stuff now. We want EVERYONE to have a chance to enjoy a show on the provider and us. Please note that Anonymous or Guest comments while approved will not be eligible to win and winners of our recent Dark Tranquillity, For Today and Moonspell and Hottest Chicks Tour contests are not eligible.

  1. omg omg omg I loveeee After the burial. I need to see this band again. Ive only seen them once and that was probably like 2 or 3 years ago. I need to see them again pleaseee.

I recently became a fan of animals as leaders. I just saw them last year at summer slaughter. It would be really great to be able to see them again.

and again After the burial <3 the best. I love them.

  2. I got 3 reasons. Tosin Abasi, Javier Reyes and Matt Garstka lol. No but seriously,my friend told me about this band and they totally blew me away. The musical talent and complexity of their songs is like a constant orgasm in my ears. I’ve been wanting to see these guys for a while but last year when I wanted to see them here in NYC I was in Canada so I would love the opportunity to see them. Also I’m going through personal stuff that will not permit me to splurge on shows the way I usually like to :/ Would love to see AAL on stage!

the last 3 times after the burial came I missed them and im dying to hear their new work live because its amazing

this entire tour is just stacked. Prog heaven! I’d love to see all of these bands and have a great time listening to their angelic music.

  4. 1. Animal As Leaders, a great political name for a metal band, we need animals to lead us, we cannot lead ourselves anymore.

    2. Instrumental power trio of progressive/space metal with amazing black guitarist is not encountered too often.

    3. The other 2 members are not too shaby either. Saw them opening for Meshuggah, they’ve blown me away.

    1. Congratulations Ludovic, you have won a ticket to the Animals As Leaders show at Irving Plaza on Sunday, 3/2. Please stay tuned to the comments and watch for one from me that lines out the details on how you claim it that night.

  5. Well where can I start? After The Burial are one of the best bands I’ve ever seen live, I still remember the first time I saw them which was 4/21/13 (their headliner). After their set you can say I was blown away and couldn’t wait to see them again once they come back to NYC. They came back around October or November with Trivium and I didn’t get the chance to see them, I was so upset at the fact that I had to wait for the next time they showed up. After I heared they’re coming back with Animals as Leaders I was so stoked but unfortunately I have no money to buy a ticket. More reasons why I want to go to this show is to go (get) hard as fuck to these bands once again. Since my birthday is coming up it’ll be rad if I get to see AAL & ATB once again after a while. Stoked for the two bands opening up, haven’t seen them and would love to see them march 2nd! 🙂

    1. Congratulations Piantini, you have won a ticket to the Animals As Leaders show at Irving Plaza on Sunday, 3/2. Please stay tuned to the comments and watch for one from me that lines out the details on how you claim it that night.

  6. 3 main reasons…. well… For one 8 string used amazingly, never head anyone use 8 string guitar like that bass lines and lead lines like Stanley Jordan or Charlie Hunter on steroids. Two, never heard such a cohesive mix of jazz, classical, progressive metal, with such a surreal epic video game sound to it, cool that it’s instrumental also with no bass,( drummer gets no credit btw and he’s siiiiicckk!! Lastly, I’m a black metal guitarist and I know background shouldn’t matter but In a mostly nonwhite metal guitar scene, I am happy to see a brother such as Tosin shreddin it and rightfully so since his parent’s are African and he puts that element clearly in the music( polyrhythms, guitar that sounds like African Kora Music) it brings it from the old world to new, from Africa to America, full circle.

    1. Congratulations Asim, you have won a ticket to the Animals As Leaders show at Irving Plaza on Sunday, 3/2. Please stay tuned to the comments and watch for one from me that lines out the details on how you claim it that night.

  7. That’s it my friends, the contest for Animals As Leaders has closed and congratulations to all of our winners. On the night of the show go to the Irving Plaza box office and ask for the Livenation List. There should be a PiercingMetal contest reference. You will need ID to claim your ticket and should you encounter any difficulty, please politely ask for an onsite manager and cite how this contest was done in cooperation with their Marketing Team. Have a great time and do let us know how it was since we shall not be in attendance for this one. Remember to always tell your friends to give a like to the PiercingMetal Facebook or follow us on Twitter. The more the merrier.
