The Details: Udo Dirkschneider is the original voice behind the classic tunes of the mighty Accept and it’s been a long time since he’s rocked and rolled in the USA. It’s been so long a time that even I don’t remember when it was that I saw him last but since then he’s moved on to a prolifically busy solo career and is bringing us a sure to be rocking show. He’ll be bringing along Halcyon Way for direct support and NYC will have local Metal flavor from Winter Nights. All this makes me excited to let you know that thanks to the fine folks at Livenation some lucky PiercingMetal readers are going to get to enjoy the show for free.

When and Where: Wednesday April 10th at The Gramercy Theatre (127 East 23rd Street NYC)

To Participate: If Udo were to break free of his solo pursuits and join forces with another band who would you like it to be? Since the obvious answer of Accept is too easy, you must pick someone else and let me know why this would work. Remember to put your full real name and an email address in the contact form (but not the comment itself out of privacy concerns). I’ll be picking from the best submissions and letting them know right under their comment so stop standing with your balls to the wall and show me how restless and wild you can be creatively.

Restrictions: While all PiercingMetal.com contests are open to our regional site readers, we do look at new responders first in order to give everyone a fair shot at enjoying a show on the provider and us. Of course we still encourage all to respond because you never know just how many tickets we are offering. Anonymous or Guest submissions while approved are not eligible.

  1. I would go with Running Wild. This would work out perfectly because of the similarities between these two bands. Both are great first of all, both emerged during the mid 80’s and German Heavy Metal. There you go!

  2. I would go with resurrecting T.T.Quick and do a singer swap and have Udo front them. Since Mark fit in so well with Accept you would assume that Udo would be a good fit for T.T.Quick’s material.

    1. Congratulations John, you have won a ticket for the U.D.O. show this Wednesday, that was a great one as a submission for sure. Stay tuned to the comments for the full details on how to claim your ticket.

  3. Chris, you took my comment as I was posting it. Was gonna say would love to see him with Glenn Evans and Dave DiPietro. The other band I would like to see Udo with is Motorhead, as both were at the forefront of the speed metal movement. Motorhead was a few years prior to Accept speeding it up, But Fast as A Shark was great and can imagine Udo singing Bomber and Overkill.

    1. Hails Bassman, sorry another commenter snatched your idea but yours was good enough for sure so congratulations on being one of the winners as well. Please make sure we have your full real name by sending a private message care of our Official Facebook (we generally require this for entries but I shall make an exception since time is short). Stay tuned to the comments for the full details on how to claim your ticket.

  4. I think Udo should join fellow German band Grave Digger. Grave Digger sounded so much like Accept particularly on their classic 1984 debut Heavy Metal Breakdown. One could actually mistaken Chris Boltendahl for Udo Dirkschneider.

    1. That’s a good one George and you know what it gets you a ticket for the Udo show on Wednesday to boot. Please stay tuned to the comments for the full details on how to claim your ticket.

  5. Contest closed so please no more entry submissions. Congratulations to our winners who have been told right below their comments. On the night of the show they should present proper identification at the venue box office and ask for the Livenation list. Should any issue be encountered ask for an onsite manager and reference this giveaway had been done in conjunction with their marketing team. I will be at this show as well so if you see me do say hello. Lots of rocking bands performing for sure. Welcome back Udo.
