Win A Ticket To Trinity @ B.B. King Blues Club On 11/27/2016

poster-trinity-at-bb-kings-2016

The Details: The combined vocal power of Geoff Tate, Tim “Ripper” Owens and Blaze Bayley are united under the touring project known as Trinity and New York City Metal fans are going to lose their minds as the former front men of Queensryche, Judas Priest and Iron Maiden stand together on the same stage. Classic songs are par for the course with this one and I don’t think that they have ever toured together before. Speaking frankly it’s been years since I’ve seen any of them perform as well and that makes me happy to announce that thanks to the powers that be at the venerated B.B. King Blues Club, several readers of the PiercingMetal site are going to see this show for free. Read below on how to participate.

When and Where: Sunday, November 27th at B.B. King Blues Club 7:30pm (237 West 42nd Street NYC)

To Participate:
In the past I have stuck to a standard of giving me three things about the performer that was being showcased but with three titanic artists I am going to have to test your mettle just a little bit more. With this one I would like you to give me two things that you like most about each of these performers. You can do three if you like for better reading but two is a must and please number and label them properly. Make it good stuff and not the whole “cuz they rule dude” because that is just not trying at all and will make me question your skills. Please note this is for a single ticket only and no plus one requests will be honored. Sorry to do that but hey if you win you can always help your friend pay for a ticket or buy them something to drink inside the venue (provided you are of age to do so). I’ll be selecting winners from the submissions and letting them know directly below their entry. Kindly review these guidelines.

– Enter only enter once. The comments are moderated and will not appear immediately after submission.
– Number them for ease of knowing if you followed the instructions or not if I’ve asked for a list.
– Please enter your full real name in the comment form along with an email address that you can be reached at if you win. This is necessary for listing purposes. Please do NOT put this information in the comment itself out of privacy concerns.
– Only enter if you can and will attend the show should you win and it’s logistically possible for you to do so. Essentially if you live a couple of hundred miles away we don’t think you’re coming here for a show in NYC.
– Subscribe to the comments and check back to see the responses so you know if you won or not.
– Make sure you are entering a NEW comment and not replying to another contestant’s entry as that makes notifying you difficult should you be marked as a winner.

Bring it on as this one will close by noon on Friday or when allotment has been depleted. Happy Thanksgiving.

Restrictions: PiercingMetal.com contests are open to all our regional site readers but we do look at new responders first in order to give everyone a fair shot at enjoying a show on the provider and us. We still encourage all to respond because you never know just how many tickets we are offering or when the most recent folks actually won if there is no one new. Please also be aware that Guest and Anonymous submissions while likely approved are not eligible to win. Winners of our recent King’s X and Lynch Mob contests do not qualify.

If You Win This Contest: If you are marked as one of the winners for this contest, here is how to claim the ticket. On the night of the show go to the venue podium and ask for the House Guest List. Please bring proper identification (driver’s license, passport, NYC ID card) and your name will be checked off that list for you to enter. If you encounter any difficulty, please politely ask for an onsite manager and cite how this contest was done in coordination with venue Marketing and PiercingMetal.com. You can also expect an email to the provided address reminding you of the win so make sure that @piercingmetal.com is listed as a safe domain to receive notes from.

  1. These r 3 of the greatest metal vocalist of our time
    Geoff Tate
1 – the queen of the ryche ep was the premiere of Tate’s vocals deeming him the Rob Halford of new decade
2- empire was one of the best albums of that year.. Tate & Chris Degarmo was a amazing writing duo
    Tim Ripper Owens
1- Ripper was in a Judas Priest tribute band & Glenn Tipton heard his vocals & was given the job after Halford Departed from the band
2- Ripper after leaving Priest due to the return of Halford was then signing for Yngwie Malsteen & sings in the band Charred Walls Of The Damned that also features Killer drumming from Richard Christy who is on the Howard Stern Show
    Blaze Bayley
1- by far one of my favorite vocalist
& did an stand up job on the Iron Maiden album X-Factor..
even tho maiden fans did not really give him a chance
2- The Clansman is my favorite song sung by Blaze & was done many times when Dickinson returned to the band
3- The Man that would not die
Is a must listen & get of Blaze’s solo albums
    ———————————————————–
So this is the Trinity that is a must see!!

    1. That’s some great stuff Blair so congrats on winning a ticket to see Trinity at B.B. King Blues Club on Sunday. Please refer to the part of the contest marked “If You Win This Contest” as it lines out all of the details you need on how to claim this at the venue. Happy Thanksgiving.

  2. Geoff Tate:
    1. Geoff Tate was the first of the “big three” of heavy metal voices that I heard. The song was Queen of the Reich and still to this day I remember how insane the intro scream was. My love for metal can be attributed to that man.
    2. Geoff Tate either helped or wrote almost every single song from Queensryche. Without his talent there really was no Queensryche.
    Ripper Owens:
    1. My first song by Iced Earth was Ten Thousand Strong. I think that speaks enough for what I like about him. I really love how effortlessly he gets that high. Almost as easily as Geoff Tate. 😉
    2. Although Tim “Ripper” Owens is most well known for his time in Judas Priest I again take my example from song he did with a different band. The Yngwie Malmsteen cover of Mr. Crowley. There’s just something so haunting about Tim’s voice and the way he is able to take a song that is known for having a specific singer and making that song completely his own.
    Blaze Bayley:
    1. I’m one of those weird people that actually really enjoyed X Factor and Virtual XI. I especially love his version of Doctor Doctor (I mean who doesn’t?). Of course off of Virtual XI The Clansman actually happens to be one of my top Iron Maiden songs. I’d just never admit that to huge Bruce fan.
    2. I honestly love how you can tell when Blaze is singing on a song. He doesn’t try to be another singer. He acknowledges that he is Blaze Bayley and this his voice is distinctly his and that no other singer sounds like him nor does he sound like any other singer.

    1. That’s some awesome insight Benjamin so congratulations on winning one of our tickets to see Trinity on Sunday at B.B. King’s. Please refer to the part of the contest marked “If You Win This Contest” as it lines out all of the details you need on how to claim this at the venue. Happy Thanksgiving.

  3. I’m incredibly excited to see these 3 legends at the same show. They have all been atop the metal world…….and just keep going.

    Geoff Tate
    1) American patriot – Consistently thanks U.S. troops on stage during shows. He appreciates the sacrifices our soldiers make to defend our freedom. We all do, but its’s nice he gives that reminder not to take our freedom or our troops sacrifice for granted.

    2) Hard to find a better in singer in any genera.

    Tim “Ripper” Owens

    1) He has a movie (Rock Star) based off his real life success story! You’re picked to replace Rob Halford, you’ve made it to the top.

    2) The Glorious Burden was the best album Iced Earth ever made and Tim was a large factor in that result (Red Barron / Blue Max comes to mind in particular).

    Blaze Baily

    1) Virus is an incredible Iron Maiden Song.

    2) I had the pleasure of seeing him perform once before at BB Kings. Very gracious and appreciated everyone being there. Class act.

    1. Jimmy you have hit the nail right on the head with these points. What a trio of Metal talent. Congratulations on winning one of our tickets to see Trinity this Sunday at the great B.B. King’s. Please refer to the part of the contest marked “If You Win This Contest” as it lines out all of the details you need on how to claim this at the venue. Happy Thanksgiving.

  4. A Trilogy of AWESOME!!!!

    Geoff Tate

Fan since I first heard him with Queensryche in 1988

Queensryche sort of defines that time in my life – along with Whitesnake!

He was voted No. 2 on That Metal Show’s top 5 hard rock vocalists of the 1980s.

    Tim “Ripper” Owens

Tim “Ripper” Owens hosted breakfasts on the Motorhead Motorboat cruise. He did all acoustic setts. Listening to that voice while chilling at sea, was one of the most memorable and enjoyable parts of the cruise.

How can you to love a guy nicknamed after the Judas Priest song “The Ripper” ?

    BLAZE BAYLEY
First off, this dude just looks BAD-ASS!!!

When Bruce Dickinson left Iron Maiden – I didn’t know how they find a suitable replacement! But they did with Blaze, even if it was only for a short time and the 2 albums didn’t do very well.

Live Fast, Die Fast was very interesting and diverse – and the more experimental tracks are easily worth checking this record out.

    1. That’s some really interesting stuff Karen – especially about Tate helping define a Metal part of your life. All the rest is exactly what I was looking for too so congratulations on winning one of our tickets for the Trinity show this coming Sunday at B.B. King Blues Club. Please refer to the part of the contest marked “If You Win This Contest” as it lines out all of the details you need on how to claim this at the venue. Happy Thanksgiving.

  5. Three metal vocalists that have stood the test of time! What an awesome opportunity to see them together right in NYC!!!

    Geoff Tate
1- Tate’s high-pitched vocals caught my attention with Queensrycht’s very first album – Operation Mindcrime.
2- He has been recognized as one of the top hard rock vocalists of the 1980s, but his district sound is unmistakable and wonderful.

    Ripper Owens
1- His voice is smooth as silk.
2- He was a great addition to Judas Priest – seriously, who else could fill Rob Halford’s shoes?

    Blaze Bayley
1- He’s an underground niche artist who really seems to appreciate his fans and doing what he loves.
2- A hugely charismatic frontman whose witty one-liners win over every audience.

    Thanks for the opportunity!
    Michelle

    1. Straight and to the point Michelle, you clearly know your stuff so let’s give you a ticket to see Trinity this Sunday at the great B.B. King Blues Club. Please refer to the part of the contest marked “If You Win This Contest” as it lines out all of the details you need on how to claim this at the venue. Happy Thanksgiving.

  6. Geoff Tate
I love his voice – PERIOD

I wasn’t a big fan of metal – but I heard his vocals on Operation: Mindcrime during a college party and it made me stop and listen – I’ve been a fan ever since

    Tim “Ripper” Owens

He became super credible when he replaced Rob Halford

Some people don’t know that The movie Rock Star was loosely based on Owen’s career — a tribute band singer joins the band he has tried to imitate

    BLAZE BAYLEY

How else can I describe this guy’s voice but – charismatic!

Gotta love Wolfsbane – a band whose fan club was named The Howling Mad Shitheads

    1. Hey Nancy, I loved all your points and we have tickets to give away so welcome to the party as a winner of one of our tickets to see Trinity on Sunday. Please refer to the part of the contest marked “If You Win This Contest” as it lines out all of the details you need on how to claim this at the venue. Happy Thanksgiving.

  7. Blaze:
    1. Love his work in Iron Maiden and his solo career. While he wasn’t the best replacement to sing classic Maiden tunes, he has a unique voice and he was great on the songs of that era (Clansman is just not the same with Bruce)
    2. He’s a very nice guy! I never had a chance to see him with Maiden, but I saw his solo tour a couple of years back and had a little chat with him afterwards. Nicest dude you’ll ever meet!

    Ripper:
    1. The guy has the voice! Saw him live with Priest and Iced Earth, and love his work on the IE albums
    2. Never saw him on any other projects, want to hear him singing other material. Very curious to hear what he will do with Blaze and Geoff

    Geoff
    1. I’ll be honest, not a big QR fan. But Operation Mindcrime is a classic, and I saw them live a few times, including OM anniversary tour before they, well, split up
    2. He’s a great singer and I’ll give the guy a credit to be the voice of QR which is considered a classic band by many fans. Not commenting on his personality or the entire split-up shenanigans 😉

    1. Some very good points there Mr. Knight. Let’s get right down to the main point, as you have won one of our tickets to see Trinity on Sunday. Please refer to the part of the contest marked “If You Win This Contest” as it lines out all of the details you need on how to claim this at the venue. Happy Thanksgiving.

  8. Geoff Tate
    1. The original voice of my all time favorite band Queensryche. His voice was so unique and he is known as one of the best singers in the business.
    2. When he’s on stage he performs with so much passion. Geoff has so much stage presence.
    Ripper Owens
    1. He has an incredible voice.
    2. The first time I saw him perform with Judas Priest it was amazing to hear him hit every note on Victim of Changes. That was the point that he won over the crowd.
    Blaze Bailey
    1. Blaze is a very charismatic front man.
    2. He kept Iron Maiden alive when Bruce left for a short period of time. Kudos for filling such large shoes.

    1. Succinct and to the direct point Denise, I love it. Congrats on winning one of our tickets to see Trinity this Sunday at B.B. King Blues Club. Please refer to the part of the contest marked “If You Win This Contest” as it lines out all of the details you need on how to claim this at the venue. Happy Thanksgiving.

  9. Geoff Tate:
    1) This is a little embarrassing, but when I was little and didn’t know how to spell properly (I was 12 and was just really dim), my friend gave me a multi-artist rock CD to include Queensryche. When Jet City Woman came on, I grabbed the case to find out what kind of angelic band came up with such a song, and yelled out “I love Queens-ricky”. Needless to say, that has stayed with me up until now, so I have a great memory of the first time I ever heard Geoff Tate, and I loved it.
    2) The same summer, my family visited America and went on a concert binge. Queensryche is one of my mother’s favorite bands, so I made sure we saw them. I didn’t know that there were two different versions at the time, so we were both a little disappointed when we didn’t see Geoff Tate (still an amazing show). I’ve never seen him before and would greatly appreciate the chance to do so.
    Tim “Ripper” Owens:
    1) I remember visiting my grandparents in Michigan, but driving a funny way through Ohio so that we would pass by Ripper’s restaurant/bar. Good food, great music, and I think we were just a day too late to see John Corabi live there  . Loved the atmosphere though, and it was nice to see my dad rocking out and having a good time.
    2) I remember seeing Iced Earth in Belgium with my best friend when I was in the 4th grade. Funny because Judas Priest and Yngwie Malmsteen were on the same festival. But, we loved the energy and I remember him making some funny comments in between songs.
    3) My brother and I have always been huge Priest fans, but I never heard Ripper sing until he showed me. Jugulator is now one of my favorite songs. Love it!
    Blaze Bayley:
    1) I’ve never seen him live, but I have heard him and think his voice is incredible. I would kill to have range like him.
    2) Iron Maiden is another great. I haven’t seen or heard anything live from any associated members in a very long time. Would be the coolest thing to expand my horizon and see/hear Blaze live!

    1. Wow that was some really interesting stuff Katherine, and such stories. Really awesome to read and so insightful. With that said congrats on winning one of my tickets to see Trinity, this Sunday at B.B. King Blues Club. Please refer to the part of the contest marked “If You Win This Contest” as it lines out all of the details you need on how to claim this at the venue. Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving 🙂

  10. Geoff Tate
    1. I can’t even explain the chills that went up my spine the first time I heard him sing queen of the ryche at Lamour in Queens back in 87 or 88.
    2. The man’s vocal octave range is by far one of the most amazing I’ve ever heard. His speaking voice alone is so calming and well sexy.
    Ripper
    1. He fulfilled his dream by becoming front man for his favorite band
    2. He replaced Rob Halford and kept me as a fan. Voice is smooth.
    Blaze
    1. Although I thought he was ok as a replacement for Bruce Dickenson his solo stuff showed me more of what I like about his voice
    2. He is such a nice and really funny guy there’s just nothing not to like about him so seeing this powerhouse trio would be amazing

    1. Great stuff Nikki and since we are so down to the wire on this one I will leave it simply as congratulations on winning one of our tickets to see Trinity on Sunday at B.B. King’s. Please refer to the part of the contest marked “If You Win This Contest” as it lines out all of the details you need on how to claim this at the venue. Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving ?
