The Details: What can I say about the Summer Slaughter Tour that has not been said already over the last few years on numerous websites and right here on – It’s truly one of the most Extreme Metal events that we find happening each and every summer and this year’s go round has been a blockbuster as it assembled Morbid Angel, Dying Fetus, Goatwhore, The Faceless, Decrepit Birth and many, many more on the same stage for an unforgettable day of Death Metal. That being said I am excited to offer up this contest thanks to the fine folks at Livenation which will let some of our lucky readers get into this show for free. Read on.

When and Where: Friday August 8th @ Irving Plaza (17 Irving Place)

To Participate: If you thought I was going to make this an easy one for you then you are so wrong my fearless readers. Your mission for this particular contest is to build me a Summer Slaughter Tour lineup and that means eight bands. From main act to the support ones and be realistic by not listing Judas Priest or something that really could never ever happen. Stick to the premise of the touring package and I would prefer to see acts that have not yet participated since that will really be interesting to read. You can also let me know why this package works out at the end of the day. I’ll be picking a few lucky contributors from the responders and letting them know directly. Remember to enter your full real name and a working email address as they are needed for listing purposes, do not put this information into the comment itself. Enter only once and know that edits will not be approved so follow the premise.

Restrictions: While all contests are open to our regional site readers and the followers of our social networks, we do look at new responders first in order to give everyone a fair shot at enjoying a show on the provider and us. Of course we still encourage all to respond because you never know just how many tickets we are offering. Please note that “Anonymous” or “Guest” submissions while approved are not eligible to win nor are winners of contests that were held from May through June.

  1. My “Summer Slaughter” would be

    Bolt Thrower – Headlining
    The Chasm
    Capitalist Casualties

Considering the strength of all of that bands why this would work as a touring package goes without saying

  2. Carcass
    (Co headliners)

    Death to All
    Vital Remains (w Glen Benton)
    God Dethroned (Special reunion)

Here, you got two headliners who have proven themselves as worthy leaders of this package on their own sold-out tours, so what other way to follow up this year’s epic fest with a double head liner featuring these two titans? You also habe reunions exclusive to this tour like the mighty God Dethroned (Netherlands) and RI’s Vital Remains with Glen Benton. You also have something different with the industrial metal of the UK’s Godflesh and the Death to All tribute. Vetearns Obituary and Austrian blackened death all stars Belphegor who have been making a name for themselves in the US for years now will kick things off. I think here you have a Summer Slaughter tour to rival the other packages of the summer and send them running home to mommy. Hope you like Ken!!

  3. This tour is just perfect. I’ve been following within the ruins since they started and man this is a band that is just continously GOOD. Im always blown away every time they release a new album/ep. They’re just so amazingly talented . They’re such a technical band that’s it’s so mesmerizing to watch them play. They never cease to amaze and that’s what I love about them. Thy art is murder is another one of my favorites. They’re from Australia and they rarely ever have shows in the U.S. so for them to be on this tour is awesome. I’m really happy they’ve gotten this far. Actually I think this may be their second U.S. tour. So if I can get a chance to see them again, I’d greatly appreciate it.
The faceless, oh man this band. I’m still very disappointed that tour with cradle fell through because that would’ve been my first time seeing them. I swear I have bad luck with this band because every time they come , something always comes up that causes me to miss them. So if I get the opportunity to go, there’s no chance I’m missing this!

    1. Congratulations Candy, you have won a ticket for the Summer Slaughter this Friday at Irving Plaza. Please stay tuned to these comments for one from me that closes it up and informs you on how you claim it at the show.

  4. Summer Slaughter 2015:

    Napalm Death – (Headliners)
    Immolation – ( Co-headliners)

    Supporting acts:

    Cannabis Corpse
    Deeds of Flesh
    Broken Hope

I feel this line-up is brutal & diverse enough to appeal to both old & new school metalheads. They work together musically, the line up makes sense and its a totally believable & profitable tour. I think the metal scene (especially today) would appreciate this line up.

    1. Congratulations Tanya, you have won a ticket for the Summer Slaughter this Friday at Irving Plaza. Please stay tuned to these comments for one from me that closes it up and informs you on how you claim it at the show.

  5. Death To All (Headliner)
    Napalm Death (2nd Headliner)
    Misery Index
    Deeds Of Flesh
    Blood Red Throne
    Jungle Rot

There you got a fresh Summer Slaughter bands that haven’t been on there before. Having Death To All headline gives it a big time headliner next two the 2nd headliner Napalm Death.

  6. My summer slaughter lineup would be

    Immolation (headliner)
    Nile (co-headliner)
Divine Heresy (if they’re still a thing)

I feel that this would be a pretty dope Summer Slaughter lineup. Tried to stick with the death metal theme along with picking bands that haven’t played the tour before (as well as some bands that that I haven’t seen do anything in awhile but it would be great to see them along with it). I would think these bands all fit together well, I think the crowds of these bands would appreciate or already be fans of the other bands playing so I would think this would be a great lineup to Summer Slaughter.

  7. I think they could beef this line up by going with another old school band as well as MA so I’ll leave them on the line up I’m throwing together now.

    Morbid Angel
    Suffocation [ Another big draw]
Necrophagist [ Maybe playing new material That would DRAW]
Hypocrisy [ You need some over seas bands in here and the one/two bands with a little melody]
    Fleshgod Apocalypse
Now we have to get some scene/core/big draws for openers
    Make Them Suffer

This line up has the variety to keep a lot of the fans happy and interested with the line up from start to finish and I believe they would all work together to play some insane shows.

  8. Headliners:

    Pig Destroyer
    Misery Index
    Beyond Creation

Obituary and Immolation as co-headliners should be a big enough draw for a tour like Summer Slaughter. This makes sense, since Obituary is releasing a new album, and Immolation has also released a new album recently. Obscura and Beyond Creation will draw as they are overseas bands, and will add a more technical element to the line-up. Pig Destroy and Misery Index also bring a different style to the line-up. Allegaeon, just released a new album, and is more melodic than other bands on the line-up. Finally, Dehumanized, for representing the underground brutal death metal for the line-up.

    1. Congratulations Edward, you have won a ticket for the Summer Slaughter this Friday at Irving Plaza. Please stay tuned to these comments for one from me that closes it up and informs you on how you claim it at the show.

  9. Dismember
    Malevolent Creation
    Vital Remains

I tried to keep mine as realistic as possible and within the confines of death metal (with one thrash band that has strong death metal undertones thrown in). I could have listed a bunch of great black metal and thrash metal bands as well but Summer Slaughter usually is primarily death metal. I also tried to keep it mainly U.S. bands with the strong except of Dismember, a Swedish band who has been broken up for quite a few years now. Despite the fact they have been broken up for a bit, I can easily see them getting back together in the future given the recent resurgence of Swedish style death metal.

Its been quite a while since Skinless, Brutality, and Malevolent Creation have done full, extensive, and well promoted tours and I think they are quite due. Sadus has been very quiet for years and that needs to change. Autopsy has a sick new album out to promote and Obituary has one forthcoming. Throw in Vital Remains and young upstarts Noisem, and this line-up is definitely what’s #BestforBusiness.

  10. Alight my Summer Slaughterers, this contest is officially and 100% closed so no more submissions please. Thank you everyone for the incredible responses and those who won were notified directly below their submission. This time around I found some completely new winners along with those who had not had a win in several months. Everyone’s response rocked but there was only so much to dole out. Tickets are still available for those interested.

On the night (or day of the show since this starts so early), go to the venue box office and ask for the Livenation Guest List. Your name will be there so you should have proper identification. There might be a PiercingMetal contest reference as well. Should you encounter any difficulty please politely ask for an onsite manager and cite how this contest was done in conjunction with Livenation Marketing. This is going to be a brutal day of Metal for sure so I hope everyone gets there early to support all the acts. I will be there as well so if you recognize me feel free to say hello but not if I am working.
