The Details: I’m going to be repeating myself yet again when I say that the guys in King’s X are road warriors and one of the best sounding bands that I have ever had the pleasure of seeing in concert. It’s a fact that they’ve never disappointed their fans yet in terms of great gigs and solid recordings. Those of you who have similar experiences are likely nodding your heads along to the statement and yet despite this there are far too many people that have not a single idea about what this band holds in their musical grasp. 2016 finds them still pushing forward with the musical charge with 37 years under their belts. That said, I am once again super excited to say that thanks to the folks from CEG Presents, some lucky PiercingMetal fans will be hitting the show for free when they perform at Stage 48 club on the West Side. This will mark my fourth contest for the band at this very venue and push PiercingMetal contest tickets past the 1500 mark. How cool is that? The rules on how to participate are below. Local openers will support.
When and Where: Saturday, November 19th at Stage 48 (650 West 48th Street). 5:30-10pm show
To Participate: Tell me three things that you like the most about King’s X as a band and why you need to be a part of this show. I will be picking a few lucky winners out of the responders and letting them know right below their comment so make it a good one. We ask that you please follow this criteria:
– Enter only enter once. The comments are moderated and will not appear immediately after submission.
– Number them for ease of knowing if you followed the instructions or not.
– Please enter your full real name in the comment form along with an email address that you can be reached at if you win. This is necessary for listing purposes. Please do NOT put this information in the comment itself out of privacy concerns.
– Only enter if you can and will attend the show should you win and it’s logistically possible to do so. Essentially if you live a couple of hundred miles away we don’t think you’re coming here for a show in NYC.
– Subscribe to the comments and check back to see them so you know if you won or not.
– Make sure you are entering a NEW comment and not replying to another contestant’s entry as that makes notifying you difficult.
Bring it on as this one will close by noon on the day before the show or when allotment has been depleted. Thanks so much.
Restrictions: While all PiercingMetal.com contests are open to our regional site readers, Facebook Page likers and Twitter Followers we do look at new responders first in order to give everyone a fair shot at enjoying a show on the provider and us. I do still encourage all to participate because you never know just how many tickets we are offering and when that last person might have won. This is for a single ticket only and please note that Guest and Anonymous comments while approved are NOT eligible to win the contest.
If You Win This Contest: If you are marked as one of the winners for this contest, here is how to claim the ticket. On the night of the show go to the venue Box Office and ask for the House Guest List. Please bring proper identification (driver’s license, passport, NYC ID card) and your name will be checked off for you to enter. If you encounter any difficulty please politely ask for an onsite manager and cite how this contest was done in coordination with venue Marketing and PiercingMetal.com. You can also expect an email to the provided address reminding you of the win so make sure that @piercingmetal.com is listed as a safe domain to receive notes from.

Do you have any King’s X in your collection? I hope that you just answered “yes” but if you didn’t, here are a whole bunch of necessary albums from the King’s X catalog.
Kings X is an amazing and underrated band. Houston is where I spent most of my live music days, and Kings – X was blazing at the time. I still remember how we knew they were gonna be huge when Megaforce picked them up. This is sure to be a great show. Hope y’all enjoy!
I think Kings X is one of all time greats because –
1. They have a great undefinable style of their own. Is it blues, is it rock/metal, prog? Whatever, nobody knows, its Kings X and its awesome.
2. They are great musicians. They might not be progressive shredders exactly, but they can work a groove on their instruments like nobody else.
3. Most importantly, they got soul . Songs that make you feel, think, believe. And I need some of that soul right now, so I hope I am there to hear and receive.
You are correct on all counts Steven so congrats on winning one of our King’s X tickets for the show on Saturday. Please refer to the section marked “If You Win This Contest” for the full details on how you claim this prize at the show.
My introduction to King’s X was through MTV’s Headbanger’s Ball when music was great. That is how I got into King’s X. The talent is above and beyond with an amazing catalog of songs that are great. Never had the chance to see them live would be a show to add to my bucket list.
Though I wanted three things from this I can be forgiving since you have never seen them before and we like making those first times happen here on PiercingMetal so you will have a ticket for this show on Saturday night. Please refer to the section marked “If You Win This Contest” for the full details on how you claim this prize at the show.
1. I love that this band had a unique sound. The mixure of Doug Pinnick’s gruff voice combined with Ty Tabor’s soft medodic voice made not only a great contrast but outstanding harmonies. Tabor’s guitar sound and playing style stand out among the grests of that era and still stand strong today.
2. In an era that will saturated with glam and meaningless, although fun bands, they did not conform to what was popular. They stayed original and true to their own style.
3. There was meaning in their lyrics. Their songs always had a positive message. Gretchen Goes To Nebraska and Faith Hope Love are phenominal albums front to back that not only deliver positive message but are backed by powerful rock riffs.
In short it’s been a while since my La’mour days where bands were seen every week and Rock ruled the world. I’ve been to one show in the past 8 years. Life gets in the way as we do our “adult” things. Lol. I don’t deserve these tix more than anyone else but I have a feeling I might wind up at this show one way or another.
Great stuff Joe and congrats because you have won a ticket to see King’s X on Saturday at Stage 48. Please refer to the section marked “If I Win This Contest” for the full details on how you claim it that night at the show.

1- Ty’s drop D tuning changed music, for me, for ever !!!!!
2-Gretchen goes to Nebraska is hands-down one of the best albums ever recorded.
