Win A Ticket To Combichrist @ Irving Plaza On 4/6/2014

Poster - Combichrist at Irving Plaza - 2014

The Details: For the fans of Industrial Metal the band Combichrist are juiced at the fact that they are hitting the road on a headlining tour in support of their latest album entitled “We Love You” and with this being the case the tour itself is being called the “We Love” tour. It’s going to bring along William Control and New Year’s Day and will be making a stop at Irving Plaza and since that is happening I am proud to announce a contest that comes care of the fine folks at Livenation who want to put some lucky PiercingMetal supporters into the show. Check out more below.

When and Where: Sunday April 6th at Irving Plaza (17 Irving Place, NYC)

To Participate: I’ll admit that I do not know all that much about Combichrist since I’ve not followed them or heard much of their output but I am sure never one to hesitate on checking something out on the live stage for the very first time. I also get a kick out of the presentation of William Control and I do greatly enjoy New Year’s Day so this contest is going to let you diehards educate me by telling me three things about the headliner or the overall package that makes this work for you the most. I will be picking from the best submissions and replying to them directly. All submissions are moderated so please only enter once. Be sure to enter your full real name and a working email address in the event we need to reach you. Bring it on.

Restrictions: All of the PiercingMetal contests are open to our loyal readers, Facebook Page likers and Twitter Followers but that being said we are still always looking for the newest names first so EVERYONE gets the chance to enjoy a show on the provider and our site. We never let on how many tickets we have so it’s always smart to submit something just in case it’s your lucky day. Based on the frequency of our contests we do keep track of the winner list but please be aware that if you had won something over the last month or so of contests your chances are less likely for this one. Please note that “Guest” and “Anonymous” submissions are not eligible either.

  1. Combichrist are a new band for me as well! I’ve been looking forward to this tour package because William Control is one of my favorite artists, and New Years Day are amazing as well. NYD are also one of the hardest working bands in the scene right now (in my opinion) and if you’re not on board with them yet, you’re already behind! I got a chance to meet Combi’s drummer Joe Letz when he did guest drumming for Aesthetic Perfection on The Birthday Massacre’s winter 2012 tour (on which William Control was also part of the package) , so I’m really looking forward to seeing him in his actual band!!

OH, also, really fun things happen when I go to William Control shows (https://www.facebook.com/alien.hookers/media_set?set=a.3146277979190.2132067.1332240235&type=3)

    1. They’re new to me as well so it will be educational all around. Congrats Kat, you have won a ticket to the Combichrist show on Sunday at Irving Plaza. Stay tuned to these comments as one will be from me to close up the contest and to line out the details to claim your ticket.

  2. Regarding Kat’s comments about fun things happening at William Control shows: I’m still really happy that I was able to photograph that show. Easily one of William Control’s more memorable performances!

Combichrist are definitely not new to me! I haven’t seen them in a few years, but I remember them always putting on a phenomenal industrial metal show. Though, to be honest, I’m more of a fan of Andy’s (the singer) more industrial side project, Icon of Coil. The music is very different, in the way that just showcases his expansive talent for different styles. I’m also really excited to see William Control and New Years Day on a tour with a band like Combichrist! They both hold special places in my heart, for different and personal reasons. It’s great to finally see them expanding into the goth/metal scene rather than continuing to tour with the cookie cutter hardcore bands I’ve gotten used to seeing them out with. I remember when William Control performed at Rock & Shock a few years back, the crowd did not know what to make of them or their tourmates (Black Veil Brides and Motionless in White), and rather than give them a chance, they just hurled verbal and physical abuse at all three bands. I’m hoping that the generally more accepting Combichrist fanbase will be open to both William Control and New Years Day, because it would make me ridiculously happy to see both bands out with more industrial acts in the future!

    1. Congrats Hilary, you have won a ticket to the Combichrist show on Sunday at Irving Plaza. Stay tuned to these comments as one will be from me to close up the contest and to line out the details to claim your ticket.

  3. 1) They are the founding fathers of goth music
    2) They are the ones who started boys wearing skirts and girls in pony tails is normal
    3) it’s a good excuss for me to dress up in sexy latex clothing 🙂

    1. Congrats Coralee, you have won a ticket to the Combichrist show on Sunday at Irving Plaza. Stay tuned to these comments as one will be from me to close up the contest and to line out the details to claim your ticket. I hope this outfit you speak of is awesome.

  4. I’m pretty new to Combichrist. Since I heard of this tour, I have been listening to them a little. However, I am much more interested in seeing William Control. For the longest time, I have been hoping to see William Control or wiL’s other band, Aiden, but I have never gotten the chance to. For years, it has been a goal of mine to go to one of these concerts. From what I have heard of Combichrist, they seem to have an extremely unique style that I would love to experience seeing/hearing in person. As for William Control, this especially holds true for me. I also love the sound of New Years Day. I think that all of these bands together would be an awesome experience!

    1. Congrats Jamie, you have won a ticket to the Combichrist show on Sunday at Irving Plaza. Stay tuned to these comments as one will be from me to close up the contest and to line out the details to claim your ticket.

  5. Combichrist have a rightful place amongst the pantheon of industrial bands.
Irving plaza can be annoying but they always have great bands.
My sister Coralee already one a ticket and if she is wearing sexy latex, she will need an escort!

    1. Congrats Erwin, you have won a ticket to the Combichrist show on Sunday at Irving Plaza. Stay tuned to these comments as one will be from me to close up the contest and to line out the details to claim your ticket. I’m sure your sister will appreciate your assistance at the show.

      1. Thanks, I am looking forward to this show. If anyone wants to get up to speed on this band, the Throat Full of Glass video is pretty representative. They use stylized violence and sexuality in most of their videos. Although they are pegged as EDM by the muzak industry, I think they are more industrial with a Scandinavian dark wave (black metal) flavor thrown in. With Al Jourgensen retired from music and writing books, we have to keep an eye on the newer bands carrying on the industrial banner… and Combichrist proved themselves worthy right out of the gate.

  6. Combichrist are the only band that have ever made me feel empty inside, which is saying a lot because I listen to a lot of pretty dark music.
They make for some great dancing.
Irving Plaza is a great venue for them. They should sound amazing!

My friend Coralee directed me here. I imagine she will be fun to see them with.

    1. Congrats Songe, you have won a ticket to the Combichrist show on Sunday at Irving Plaza and its the last that we had to give out. Stay tuned to these comments as one will be from me to close up the contest and to line out the details to claim your ticket. Looks like we have to put this Coralee on retainer for her publicity efforts.

  7. Seeing Combichrist would be amazing in itself, but seeing them with Coralee in latex would be even better! 🙂 I missed out on seeing Skinny Puppy last month and seeing Combichrist might help heal that wound with STOMPY DANCING and having an opportunity to get my full goth on!

  8. Alright Industrializers our contest for Combichrist is over so please no more submissions. Congratulations to all of our winners who were notified under their comment. On the night of the show, please do to the venue box office and ask for the Livenation Guest List (so bring along ID). You will be given your ticket to go in. Should you encounter any issue please politely ask for a venue manager and cite how this contest was done in coordination with their marketing team.

I’ll be there as well so if you recognize me please feel free to say hello (just not when I am pointing the camera at something).
