Win A Ticket For Luca Turilli’s Rhapsody/Primal Fear @ Stage 48 On 4/28/2016

Poster - Luca Turilli Rhapsody - Primal Fear at Stage 48 - 2016

The Details: Talk about a co-headlining tour. Luca Turilli’s Rhapsody and Primal Fear united together for the sake of Metalkind and bringing their melodic awesomeness to numerous parts of these United States. Now I have enjoyed the powerhouse known as Primal Fear for quite some time and caught them on a couple of their US Tours over the years but I have yet to see this version of Rhapsody in action. Some fans might not know this but Rhapsody (then Rhapsody Of Fire) split its members and each began live and recording activity. This one finds founding guitarist Luca Turilli at the helm and to my knowledge this will be their first ever full USA tour. The anticipation and excitement about a tour like this one is usually well enough but I am going to up the ante by announce that the bands will be hitting the Stage 48 club in NYC and thanks to the promoters, some of the PiercingMetal readers are going to get to enjoy the show for free. Local support will lead off this show that night if you should feel like arriving early to check it all out. Read more below on how this works.

When and Where: Thursday, April 28th at Stage 48 – 7:30pm (630 West 48th Street NYC)

To Participate: With two bands to choose from I am going to make this easy on you. I usually like to ask you for three things that impress you about a certain band and their music. It’s more than fine to make the opinion one sided but do give me the things that you love most about either band or a particular album or show you have seen in the past. Just sell me on it all. The newbies don’t have the same luxuries but that doesn’t preclude them from needing some reasons as well. Convince me to add you to this show with cool notations as well. Make them solid to read more than just a plain old “because they rock man” because that is just too un-original and boring. I’ll be responding to the comments that I like most right below their answer. Remember that this is for a single ticket only and no plus one requests will be honored. Sorry.

– Enter only enter once. The comments are moderated and will not appear immediately after submission.
– Number them for ease of knowing if you followed the instructions or not if I’ve asked for a list.
– Please enter your full real name in the comment form along with an email address that you can be reached at if you win. This is necessary for listing purposes. Please do NOT put this information in the comment itself out of privacy concerns.
– Only enter if you can and will attend the show should you win and it’s logistically possible for you to do so. Essentially if you live a couple of hundred miles away we don’t think you’re coming here for a show in NYC.
– Subscribe to the comments and check back to see the responses so you know if you won or not.
– Make sure you are entering a NEW comment and not replying to another contestant’s entry as that makes notifying you difficult should you be marked as a winner.

This contest will close by end of business on 4/27 or when sufficient entries have been received. Go get ‘em.

Restrictions: PiercingMetal’s contests are open to our loyal readers, Facebook Page likers and Twitter Followers but that being said we are still looking for the new names first. Don’t let that stop you from entering of course but we do keep track based on the overall demand for this stuff at this point. We want EVERYONE to have a chance to enjoy a show on the provider and PiercingMetal but if you just won you will likely not have a chance for this one. Please note that Anonymous or Guest comments will not be approved.

If You Win This Contest: If you are marked as one of the winners for this contest, here is how to claim the ticket. On the night of the show go to the venue box office and politely ask for the House Guest List. There might be a “PiercingMetal Contest” reference as well. Please bring proper identification (driver’s license, passport, NYC ID card) and your name will be checked off that list for you to enter. If you encounter any difficulty, please politely ask for an onsite manager and cite how this contest was done in coordination with venue Marketing and You can also expect an email to the provided address reminding you of the win so make sure that is listed as a safe domain to receive notes from.

  1. I love Rhapsody, Rhapsody of Fire, Luca Turilii ‘s solo material ( in particular King of the Nordic Twilight) and Fabio (mentioned meeting Andrea Bocelli, my favorite singer, at the last show). Fabio did a great job for Kamelot. Excited to see Luca’s new line up. I Appreciate all the efforts. I have never seen Primal Fear, but want to see them too!

    1. Brief and to the point Jimmy and while we were looking for more, the contest is drawing to a close and we are in a very giving mood here at the Metal Creative Command HQ. That said, congratulations on winning one of our tickets, please refer to the section marked “If You Win This Contest” so you know all the details.

  2. 1. European Power Metal – this stuff is the present and the future. These two bands are the ones taking the torch from Judas Priest, Manowar, etc and making sure the true traditional metal carries on and did not die in the 80s. It is more important than ever to support these shows due to the mainstream media and even so called metal guys like Eddie Trunk turning a blind eye to it. This stuff is so huge in Europe yet the turnouts in America are often quite small with the exception of a few bands like Nightwish and Blind Guardian. Primal Fear and Rhapsody have been going strong since the mid to late 90s, it’s very important that we make them feel welcome so that their brand of metal can build here.

    2. Primal Fear was one of my first power metal bands. It all started with the album Black Sun for me in 2002 and I was instantly hooked. Went back and bought their first three albums after that and own every release since including their recently released 11th album Rulebreaker. A strong dosage of Judas Priest with a dash of Accept and you have one of today’s finest metal bands.

    3. I’ve seen Primal Fear live 5 times now and they always deliver. The very first time was on Rob Halfords Metal God’s tour playing amongst bands like Amon Amarth, Immortal and Testament. The Germans really stood out that night as being different from the extreme acts and showing that denim and leather with a spike fist lives on. Seeing them live I’d imagine is similar to being hit by a freight train. They are a force to be reckoned with and should not be missed. Since the Metal God’s tour I’ve seen em three more times in NYC as well as at Mark Gromens Brave Words and Bloody Knuckles 6 Pack Weekend in Cleveland, OH. I’m beyond grateful that the band is back for another round and have Rhapsody with them whom I’ve never seen live before.

    4. Primal Fear represents everything metal is about and that is the freedom to be who you want to be and not answer to anyone and that is why I’m such a fan. This motto is evident with the band’s eagle mascot on every album cover and if we learned anything about eagles that came from the German power metal originators Helloween and that is EAGLE FLY FREE. The band has been an inspiration to me for a long time and will continue to be until my dying day. Metal is Forever!

  3. This is such a great doubling billing.

    1. These are both later 90’s power metal bands. Not exactly the hay day for the genera, yet they are still touring and making great new music. Fantastic.

    2. Rhapsody ballads in Italian are amazing.

    3. I’ve been a fan of Ralf since the Gamma Ray days. I see that intensity and power continue in Primal Fear. Can’t wait to hear songs from the new album Rulebreaker!

    4. Different lineup for Luca’s Rhapsody. Excited to see new and classic songs performed. Always go in with an open mind to new members.

    5. I’m glad they are both coming to NYC!

  4. Good stuff Bob and that means you are getting a ticket for the show on Thursday at Stage 48. Please refer to the part of the contest marked “If You Win This Contest” for the full details.

  5. Alright my Metal Legions this contest is 100% officially closed. No further entries should be posted as the winning names have all been submitted to the venue for tonight’s show. To firm up that you know the scoop, please refer to that part of the contest post marked “If You Win This Contest” as it has all that you need to know to claim your prize. I will be at the show as well, and likely doing some pre-gaming at the American Retro Bar and Grill with friends so don’t be afraid to say hello or gather with other Metal fans at the pub.
