Outside of the success of “Wonder Woman”, “Aquaman” and the potentially fun appeal of the “SHAZAM!” film (which opens this Friday); The DC Extended Universe is a hot mess. Films like “Man Of Steel” were moderately received and “Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice” was a ponderous effort that bore little reward while “Justice League”, well, let’s not discuss the absolute bomb that this ended up being. Resultant of this there will be offshoot films that while featuring DC Comics characters will not be connected to a properly shared universe. The first such film is “Joker” and the teaser clip was just released so let’s take a look.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Perhaps its the absolute joy that I’m still feeling from yesterday’s “Avengers: Endgame” clip because I am more open about this film than I felt that I would be. I love The Joker, but he has barely been portrayed right on the big screen. Each actor has brought something interesting to the role but sometimes it was too extreme for what Joker is and now its time for Phoenix to show us what he is made of. This might be good but again I am not too interested in giving this the “Gotham” treatment where he existed before the Caped Crusader and that looks like what is coming in this film. It could be interesting but I might wait for the first reviews before I plunk down any cash. What did you think? Chime in down below.
