March seems to be a slow month with starting off points for the Valiant Comics side but that is alright, its just the chance for you to take a breather and make sure your collections are up to date with the other titles that are currently running. That said here is the first issue offering for March with a brand new take on “Ninjak” whose title begins this month. Press and cover image provided by Valiant Entertainment press folks as in past posts.
Ninjak: For the first time, Ninjak’s past and future collide in the pages of an all-new ongoing series from New York Times best-selling writer Matt Kindt (Rai, Mind MGMT) and superstar artists Clay Mann (X-Men: Legacy, Gambit) and Butch Guice (Captain America, Action Comics)!
Then: Meet inexperienced MI-6 recruit Colin King on his first mission in the field as he learns the basics of spycraft and counterintelligence, and develops a volatile relationship with his first handler.
Now: Colin King is Ninjak, the world’s foremost intelligence operative, weapons expert, and master assassin. And he’s hunting the Shadow Seven – a secret cabal of shinobi masters with mysterious ties to his training and tragic past.
Writer: Matt Kindt; Penciler: Clay Mann, Butch Guice; Cover Artist: Lewis LaRosa, Clay Mann, Dave Johnson, Marguerite Sauvage, Trevor Hairsine & Tom Muller
PiercingMetal Thoughts: I really enjoyed the action and intrigue AND the art of the original “Ninjak” series so I am looking forward to seeing how its going to be delivered to today’s comic book readers. I cannot wait to see how they play the past and the present across the single storyline and think that will be very interesting to readers. Flashbacks can make some interesting television as we see in the currently running “Arrow” program so why wouldn’t it work in the comics page. Let’s see what happens. What do you readers think? Will you stand behind this title? Have you done so in the past? Let me know in the comments so we get some discussion going on.
