Universal Pictures: “Mortal Engines” Official Trailer #1

You probably remember the name of Peter Jackson as the man who made “Lord Of The Rings” and “The Hobbit” come to life on the big screen. This coming December he will take us to a world where cities roam the planet in a quest of domination and survival. The film is called “Mortal Engines” and the first official trailer premiered just the other day. Let’s take a look.

The Premise: Tom is a twenty-something Londoner who has only ever lived inside his travelling hometown, and his feet have never touched grass, mud or land. His first taste of the outside comes quite abruptly: Tom gets in the way of the masked Hester’s attempt to kill Thaddeus Valentine, a powerful man she blames for her mother’s murder, and both Hester and Tom end up thrown out of the moving “traction” city, to fend for themselves. PiercingMetal Thoughts: I think its far too early for me to know if I am seeing this one in the theaters but who knows. The special effects look rather interesting and who doesn’t want to see a giant rolling city devouring smaller cities in its path. Good clean apocalyptic times fun right? I also love the work of Peter Jackson and think he does great things on film but what about you readers. Does this spark any interest right off the bat and are you familiar with the source material? I must admit that I am not and its already too late for me to do some detective work at Book Expo and Con since that just passed. Anyway, chime in down below and let me know what you think. Until our next meeting.
