Fans of the “Fast & Furious” franchise of bombastic chases and explosions and intrigue and action will be pleased to find the release of the ninth chapter in these characters stories coming out this April. As you know, I’ve really pushed our Pop Culture items up a notch and will not only be adding the occasional Horror clip and summaries to our content, but also these big screen Action Adventure films as well since our core audience is a lock for such things. Let’s take a look at the first trailer which was just recently revealed by the folks at Universal Pictures.

The Premise: After the events of “The Fate of the Furious” (from 2017), Dominic Toretto and his family must face Dominic’s younger brother Jakob, a deadly assassin, who is working with their old enemy Cipher, and who holds a personal vendetta against Dominic.

The Cast and Characters:
Vin Diesel as Dominic Toretto
Michelle Rodriguez as Letty Ortiz
Tyrese Gibson as Roman Pearce
Chris “Ludacris” Bridges as Tej Parker
Jordana Brewster as Mia Toretto
Nathalie Emmanuel as Ramsey
John Cena as Jakob, Dom’s younger brother
Helen Mirren as Magdalene Shaw
Charlize Theron as Cipher
Michael Rooker as Buddy

Sung Kang reprise his role from previous films as Han Lue, a former member of Dom’s team who was seemingly killed by Deckard Shaw. Lucas Black reprises his role from Tokyo Drift (2006) as Sean Boswell, a friend of Han and Dom who joins to assist him. Cardi B portrays Leyousa ,a woman who shares history with Dom. Finn Cole, Anna Sawai, Vinnie Bennett, Ozuna, and Francis Ngannou have been cast in undisclosed roles.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Based on my overall love of the explosive action films like this one and the “Mission: Impossible” stuff, it might surprise you to find me admitting that I’ve never ventured further than the first film in this franchise. I’m not sure how that happened but then again I never saw all of the “Harry Potter” or “Mission: Impossible” films either despite finding the ones I did see to my liking. That said, this trailer looks like everything one might expect in such a film and if I should manage to catch up on the “7” that I didn’t see, I just might check this one out. What about you readers? Are you a diehard for this particular franchise? Chime in down below in the comments section and I will see you next time around.
