Tonight: “The Walking Dead” Season 7 – Mid-Season Premiere on AMC

There have been so many awesome happenings on the small screen these last couple of months that I wanted to make sure that you didn’t forget that “The Walking Dead” returns this evening with its mid-season premiere. The show poster is pretty cool and it seems like the game is getting upped once more.

First Half Recap: Okay so we officially met Negan at the end of S6 and when S7 premiered he really made you hate him. He dispatched a number of the cast we had come to love over the last few seasons such as Glenn and Abraham in an absolutely brutal fashion. The scenes were so jarring that people complained that it was too much and that amazed me. If a show about zombies making short work of humanity and the remaining living being absolute f–ks to people is off-putting to you DON’T WATCH IT. Believe me when I say that the comic book series are far more “Yikes”. Negan is a frigging douche canoe for sure and he reminded us of this in every scene he was in. Morgan does a stellar job in the role because you absolutely hate the character with levels of venom you normally wouldn’t expect to direct at the television. Let’s hope that Daryl and Rick Grimes take care of business and move onto the next insidious scenario. We also met the weird King Ezekial and his Kingdom during the first half and I’d like to see these folks taking a more prominent and positive stand for the outcomes. Here is some casting. I’ve left off those no longer with us 🙁

Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes
Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon
Lauren Cohan as Maggie Rhee
Chandler Riggs as Carl Grimes
Danai Gurira as Michonne
Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier
Lennie James as Morgan Jones
Sonequa Martin-Green as Sasha Williams
Alanna Masterson as Tara Chambler
Josh McDermitt as Eugene Porter
Christian Serratos as Rosita Espinosa
Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan
Seth Gilliam as Gabriel Stokes
Ross Marquand as Aaron
Austin Amelio as Dwight
Tom Payne as Paul “Jesus” Rovia
Xander Berkeley as Gregory

PiercingMetal Thoughts: While I can agree that the first couple of S7 episodes were lessons in brutality, I must also say that a whole lot of the rest was as slow and boring as the previous seasons have ended up becoming. IMHO, “TWD” is all about giving you a single moment or shocking development with each half season and then its a yawn fest for the remainder. Of course a lot of my friends still are loving it and despite my thoughts I do still watch it and do my best to avoid Facebook until I have seen it since folks just seem to love spoiling the outcomes. Hey people let’s do a lot less of that okay? There is no need to post on your status that you couldn’t believe a zombie just ate so and so. It’s a real d–k move since not everyone can watch when the show airs and that doesn’t even include the folks on the Left Coast. Well that is all I have for this little alert. Are you still a diehard for the show or have you lost most of the interest? As always your opinions are of value down in the comments section below. Remember that if you are watching a little later than when it airs to stay off Facebook and don’t even look at your mobile unless your alerts are off. Otherwise someone can and WILL ruin the outcome for you. Until next time.
