Tonight: “Robert Kirkman’s Secret History Of Comics” On AMC (11/12/2017)

While I am sure that you know is name from his being the creator of “The Walking Dead”, it seems as though Robert Kirkman is a bit of a comic book historian as well and thanks to the folks at AMC, is delivering a mini-series called “Robert Kirkman’s Secret History Of Comics”. It airs tonight at 11PM EST (which means its post “The Walking Dead”, “Talking Dead” and “Comic Book Men”) but check your local listings unless you are programming it. Take a look at the premise and poster and then I’ll return with some closing editorial.

About The Show: “The Walking Dead” comic book creator Robert Kirkman stars in this documentary series that takes a deeper look into the stories, people and events that have transformed the world of comic books. It also features interviews with icons such as Stan Lee, Patty Jenkins, Lynda Carter, Kevin Smith, Famke Janssen, J.K. Simmons, Michelle Rodriguez, and Todd McFarlane, among many others.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: We long been showcasing our appreciation of the comic book medium here on the website, so any documentary series that gives us a look into a few assorted topics is right up on my radar of things to watch. There are only six episodes in full so you should be able to easily program your DVR or VCR (if such things still even exist) and watch at your leisure. I am also going to venture to guess that the AMC website will permit you to watch episodes online and then there is that On Demand stuff that is the talk of the town. As the episodes air, I will list their names up above for easier reference. I find it better to watch such a feature in sequential order just like a comic book series. The trailers for this in terms of the commercials and stuff I’ve read online make this look really interesting. What do you think? Will you be giving it a chance? Six hours isn’t a lot of time to devote nowadays. You can even binge it 🙂 Let me know what you think down in the comments section below.
