Tonight: “Powerless” Series Premiere On NBC (2/2/2017)

As discussed not so long ago in another post, The CW is rife with DC Superhero shows with the likes of “Arrow”, “The Flash”, “Legends Of Tomorrow” and now “Supergirl” all forming what is considered “The Arrowverse” (alright “Supergirl” is a parallel universe but they all teamed up in the first half of their most recent seasons). There is also “I Zombie” but that show is not connected to the others at all and now it looks like NBC is throwing their hat into the ring once more with a show that’s called “Powerless”. That show begins its season tonight with the premiere episode.

The Premise:
Powerless takes place in the DC Universe and follows the adventures of Emily Locke (Vanessa Hudgens) as Director of Research & Development at Wayne Security, a subsidiary of Wayne Enterprises, that specializes in products for ordinary humans who are poised to be victims of the battles between superheroes and supervillians. (thanks Wiki).

The Cast and Characters:
Vanessa Hudgens as Emily Locke
Danny Pudi as Teddy
Alan Tudyk as Van Wayne
Christina Kirk as Jackie
Ron Funches as Ron
Crimson Fox is set to appear in the pilot episode

PiercingMetal Thoughts: In the post for the trailer I mentioned that I felt this could be a “cute” program but I have to be honest, I just have too many shows on my DVR plate to consider this one from the get go. I think I will let a couple of episodes go by first and then decide if the reviews have convinced me to give it a shot. I also mentioned that I didn’t have much faith in NBC doing a comics related show since they didn’t give the quality “Constantine” a fair chance and that still bothers me just a tad. What do you readers think about this one? Will you be watching tonight? If you do, perhaps you can post some comments down below about whether or not we should give it a chance. Don’t spoil anything of course but give us a little bit of insight. Okay back to the everything else on our collective plates.
