Tonight: “Cloak & Dagger” Series Premiere on Freeform (6/7/2018)

Hey there my friends, we have arrived at the airing date for Marvel’s “Cloak and Dagger”, a show that takes place in the proper MCU (which is Marvel Cinematic Universe if you are somehow in the dark) and essentially gives the Powers That Be more heroes to play with in the same sandbox. This airs on the Freeform Network at 8PM EST so check your own local listings if this is of interest to you. Check out the official poster, some premise and casting.

The Premise: Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson, two teenagers from different backgrounds, acquire superpowers while forming a romantic relationship. They soon realize that their powers work better when they are together, “but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging”.

The Cast/Characters:
Olivia Holt as Tandy Bowen/Dagger
Aubrey Joseph as Tyrone Johnson/Cloak
Andrea Roth as Melissa Bowen
Gloria Reuben as Adina Johnson
Miles Mussenden as Otis Johnson
Carl Lundstedt as Liam
Emma Lahana as Brigid O’Reilly
Jaime Zevallos as Delgado
J. D. Evermore as Connors
James Saito as Bernard Sanjo

Before I share my editorial thoughts, I wanted to share a few more posters that I had found and never got around to sharing in a post of their own. Better late than never right? Here we go.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I still maintain some surprise that “Cloak and Dagger” are getting their own television show because while I enjoyed the characters, they never really did all that well in the comic books. They were great guest-stars but as far as their own title, they once had to share an issue with Doctor Strange and even that one ended up being cancelled. This show looks good though so perhaps it will have some good story lines and action. Speaking frankly, I’m just glad its in the hands of the folks who own most of the Marvel characters and not a Sony or Fox offering. What do you think? Will you be tuning in? My DVR is already programmed.
