We’ve been anticipating this one for a few months now and I am happy to report that the first full season of “Marvel’s Daredevil” or simply just “Daredevil” will be available to watch in its entirety as of this moment today but you will need a subscription to Netflix to do so. This is the first in a series of four heroic shows that are in the immediate plan with the others being “Power Man”, “Iron Fist” and “Jessica Jones”. These four shows will eventually be tied even closer together in an additional Netflix series focusing on “The Defenders”. Let’s have a look at the few posters so far and the premise and cast for “Daredevil”. I’ll be back after that.
Marvel’s Daredevil, or simply Daredevil, is an upcoming American web television series developed for Netflix by Drew Goddard, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. It is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), sharing continuity with the films of the franchise, and is the first in a series of shows that will lead up to a Defenders crossover miniseries. The series is produced by Marvel Television in association with ABC Studios, DeKnight Prods. and Goddard Textiles, with Steven S. DeKnight serving as showrunner, and Goddard acting as consultant.
Charlie Cox stars as Matt Murdock / Daredevil, a lawyer-by-day who fights crime at night. The series chronicles the character’s early days fighting crime, juxtaposed with the rise of crime lord Wilson Fisk, played by Vincent D’Onofrio. Deborah Ann Woll, Elden Henson, Rosario Dawson, Ayelet Zurer, Bob Gunton, Toby Leonard Moore, and Vondie Curtis-Hall also star. Daredevil entered development in late 2013, a year after the film rights to the character reverted to Marvel, with Goddard initially hired in December 2013. DeKnight replaced him as showrunner and Cox was hired to star in May 2014. Filming began in New York City that July, with production ending in December.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I will keep this simple and straight forward and leave it as “awesome”. I have this view because of the fact that while these shows are airing on a pay to stream service, they are going to work directly into the framework of the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe. That is amazing because you might have already heard that Warner Brothers is choosing to keep their television and big screen properties disconnected. Essentially none of the DC Comics television shows speak to whatever happens in film and most don’t even speak to each other. This means we might end up with two Arrows, two Flashes and so on. That drives me crazy, but I was left out of the Board Room decisions for the company and will leave it as that. I am not sure that I am going to binge watch the show in one clip since there are thirteen episodes but am guessing that I finish it within a couple of weeks. So “Let’s Level With Daredevil” together on Netflix and if you do not yet have the service I am sure one of your friends that does would love some errands being run, or a case of beer, some pizza or coffees over time in order to let you watch it. Or you can just subscribe for the really cheap $8.99 a month. What do you readers think about this show being offered? Are you a fan of this superhero at all? Chime in down there in the comment section but please don’t post any significant spoilers since that is bogus.
