My background on this band is very, very limited but I plan on changing that the moment that some time frees up. Since I just received a little bit of touring news about them, I figured let’s be supportive and share it with those who find them of interest and are near enough to come out and see a gig. There wasn’t a line by line presentation of the dates but you can see them all clearly enough in the poster so I didn’t retype them. Check it out.
The Press Release:
The Bunny The Bear has been out on the road nonstop since their latest album and Needful Things Records debut, “The Way We Rust,” was released. The band is excited to announce they will be heading out with As Animals Eat My Insides and Kevlar on a 9 date run that kicks off on 9/29 in Nashville, TN and wraps up on 10/10 in Daytona Beach, FL.
Going out on the road gives bands the opportunity to meet many new people and a chance to interact in person with their fans. Since each tour cannot hit every city, so when a band does come back to town; it’s special. The Bunny The Bear has toured relentlessly for almost a decade and has made a stop in numerous cities throughout the years. Vocalist Matt “The Bunny” Tybor shared, “It’s been quite a while since The Bunny The Bear has visited a few of these cities and it’s going to be great seeing old and new faces alike. We can’t wait!”. “The Way We Rust” is available on all major digital platforms with physical copies and merch at Merchbucket.
About The Bunny The Bear: The uniqueness of each album is part of what makes The Bunny The Bear so special. Combining diverse influences such as Chicago, Fleetwood Mac, Brand New, and The Killers to name a new, Matthew Tybor strives to stay ever-changing and to not limit himself to one specific sound. The Bunny The Bear exploded onto the scene back in 2010 with their self titled debut album (engineered by Doug White/Produced by Tybor). Without wasting any time, TBTB followed up their first album with “If You Don’t Have Anything Nice To Say…” in 2011 and continued to put out a new album every year –“The Stomach For It” (2012), “Stores” (2013),“Food Chain” (2014) and “A Liar Wrote This” (2015). Tybor has taken his “out of the box music” on the road with bands like Mindless Self Indulgence, Funeral For A Friend, Escape The Fate and many more. The Bunny The Bear has also been featured on Warped tour in 2015. After departing their previous label, 2017 will be year of change for The Bunny The Bear, including bringing Joseph Garcia in as the bear. Garcia had briefly toured with the band back in 2013 and teamed back up with Tybor to announce they would be releasing a new album, “The Way We Rust”, and partnering up with Needful Things Records. Tybor explains, “I loved the idea of pushing, what I see as a second birth of my project, alongside a new label, ran by someone who I really see eye to eye with. That’s a rare thing for me.”
PiercingMetal Thoughts: So I’ve already said that my background is limited but what about you readers? Are any of you listening to this band already? They were on Victory Records for a few years and they’ve done the various summer tours around the country. I’ve never heard the opening acts and since this run isn’t happening anywhere near our own Metal Command HQ we are going to miss it entirely. I’m going to give their new release a listen when I can get to it and you can stay tuned for that in our Music Reviews area. Let me know what you think of this tour if it interests you and if you’ve supported the band before it would be great to know what the newbies have in store for them. See you next time.
