It’s a busy Monday here at the Metal Command HQ and while I am prepping for my next adventure and locking in some items for you to see during the week, the news about the upcoming raid on some territories by those maniacal Metal Mongols in Tengger Cavalry must be shared post haste. The alert should find numerous cities fortifying their walls and ensuring that their battlements are desbris free and allow their archers a clear sight of the approaching enemy. Check out the full press release, poster and dates below and then I will return with additional orders.

TENGGER CAVALRY recently released their new Mountain Side EP, which can be ordered here. Mountain Side EP features re-orchestrated versions of popular tracks, as well as completely new music accented by acoustic, instrumental and remix versions. The EP also features bonus live tracks and folk recordings. In particular, the re-recording of the band’s already popular track “War Horse” still features the traditional Mongolian throat-singing that TENGGER CAVALRY is known for, but has now been completely re-composed and re-recorded to include influences such as Mongolian traditional folk, Native American tribal music, and cinematic film landscapes. TENGGER CAVALRY was recently awarded a Bronze Medal for the EP title track “Mountain Side” as part of the Global Music Awards.
A fully acoustic version of their most recent full-length release, Blood Sacrifice Shaman, is also available now. Download via Bandcamp HERE. Make sure to also check out the band’s official guitar tab book, featuring guitar tabs of band’s most popular songs such as “War Horse”, “Horseman” and “Hymn of the Earth”. About TENGGER CAVALRY: Nature Ganganbaigal and TENGGER CAVALRY have been turning heads in the music world since the band’s inception in 2010. In 2014, Ganganbaigal released his Mongolian New Age album To Where Tengger Leads Me. The album won a bronze medal from Global Music Awards and a nomination from Hollywood Music in Media Awards. In 2015, Nature moved to New York City from China and re-located the band with brand new American members. Last year, the band released a new album, Blood Sacrifice Shaman, out via Metal Hell Records and available for streaming here.
TENGGER CAVALRY blends the nomadic music tradition of Central Asia with heavy metal music, creating the unique music genre mentioned above, Mongolian folk metal. Nature Ganganbaigal performs multiple Mongolian nomadic instruments including Mongolian horse-head fiddle Morin Khuur, Mongolian flute, Tibetan horn, Mongolian guitar (Tovshuur) and other instruments native to the region. He is also able to sing using the ancient Mongolian singing tradition of Khoomei, also known as throat singing or overtone singing. After the release of four studio albums in Europe and United States, TENGGER CAVALRY has become known as one of the most unique, innovative and exciting metal bands in Asia.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Having never managed to see the band yet I am keeping this short and sweet. Its been on my agenda of “to do” for several months but when it all boils down to it happening its still not crossed off my list. I’ve gotten to meet the main Mongolian since first hearing them and have regularly interacted with their powers that be and given the thumbs up. This is truly interesting stuff and I will get around too it sooner or later. This run finds them hitting lots of territory which would make the great Khan and his raiders quite proud but they are not coming to NYC at all. Let’s cross our fingers that some additional shows will be mapped out on the invasion. Folks that are planning on going should not miss Incite since they also deliver a solid Metal experience.
