In my constant quest to alert you to awesome concert experiences I wanted to share the news that The Tedeschi Trucks Band will be returning to NYC for a six-night residency at the famed Beacon Theatre. Take a look at the copy that I snagged from their Official Facebook page and then I’ll close out with some additional thoughts.
The Press Release:
Let’s play six for the 6th annual TTB Beacon run! This fall Tedeschi Trucks Band continue their tradition of performing multiple-night residencies at The Beacon Theatre for the sixth consecutive year. The 12-piece band led by husband and wife Susan Tedeschi and Derek Trucks have performed at the Beacon Theatre since 2011, and this year’s run has expanded to six shows long featuring with special guest openers Amy Ray (9/30), Dave Mason (10/4), and Jorma Kaukonen (10/5). The weekend nights (10/1, 10/7, 10/8) will feature “An Evening With TTB” featuring two full sets from the band and no opener.
Tickets go on sale to the public Friday, May 6 at 10am ET via tedeschitrucksband.com/events – Pre-sale tickets are also available from the TTB Tour Page starting on Tuesday, May 3 at 10am ET (no password/code needed).

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I have to tell you readers that this is a really excellent band and while I love bringing the latest and greatest of Metal stuff to your attention, if you are a fan of Blues-laden Rock with tremendous vocal talent and riffs to die for with a slightly Southern vibe then you want to check out this group. They seem to be taking over the residency idealogy that The Allman Brothers used to do in the time honored space and when you see a show by TTB you are getting a lengthy performance. There is no 1 hour 15 stuff going on here. I have to give props to our longtime media ally Skeleton Pete Parrella for turning me onto them in the first place. I know he’ll be at one or two of these shows for sure when they go on sale and maybe if I am lucky and can swing myself a ticket shall be able to do the same. The final shows seem to be around the same time that the NY Comic Con happens and that takes my focus away from everything for a few days. What do you readers think of this touring announcement and the residency? Are you already a fan or perhaps willing to give them a chance? Let me know in the comments section below.
