It was a little over a month ago that I shared the news about Wednesday 13 signing onto the Nuclear Blast Records roster and if you missed that post just click onto THIS LINK to see the whole scoop.
About The Video: (from the official press) “I’m really excited to unveil the new video for ‘What the Night Brings,’ the first track from our upcoming album, Condolences,” Wednesday 13 said.”It kicks off our new album and really sets the tone for the rest of it. We worked on the video with director Matt Zane (Society One) and he really helped bring a spooky vibe. The song reminds me of a heavy metal version of ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ theme!” He continued, “It was also a lot of fun filming the extra scenes, too, where I get to dress up like a demon at a ritual! I never knew that singing with fangs would be so difficult, but I made it work!” Continue reading Nuclear Blast Presents: Wednesday 13’s “What The Night Brings” Official Video→

The Press Release:
WEDNESDAY 13 ANNOUNCES WINTER 2017 ACOUSTIC TOUR – NEW ALBUM DUE OUT IN NEXT YEAR – Attention ghouls and creepy crawlers. Horror rocker Wednesday 13 has an important Halloween announcement.
After wrapping a successful North American fall headline tour, Wednesday 13 is ready to announce his extended plans for next year. He will embark on a unique, Winter 2017 acoustic tour. In addition to performing an entirely stripped down set, Wednesday 13, who is formerly one-half of The Murderdolls with Slipknot’s Joey Jordison, will share stories and engage in a Q+A session with fans during the show. It’s a truly intimate experience.
Wednesday 13’s acoustic gigs have been well-received by his fans overseas and the same excitement is anticipated in the U.S. Bourbon Crow will provide direct support for the acoustic trek.
“I’m super excited to bring my undead unplugged shows to America, as they have been really great in the UK,” said Wednesday 13. “Not only is it my unplugged show, it will feature a set from my side project Bourbon Crow. These shows are like a ‘Storytellers’ set, plus Q &A with the audience. It’s a very different show from my normal full band performances and I and wait for the tour in January.”
Artist: Wednesday 13 Venue: The Studio at Webster Hall (New York, NY) Opener: One-Eyed Doll, Echo Black, Candy Brain, Metallica, Open Your Eyes Date: 9/27/2016 Label: Independent Artist
I’ve been a fan of the stuff that Wednesday 13 has been doing since I first heard the album “Fang Bang” and in case you didn’t realize this, that particular album recently celebrated its 10th anniversary. I discussed this as one of my “Milestone” posts and you can reflect upon its Horror Punk awesomeness on THIS LINK. It’s been a few years since I’ve caught Mr. 13 in concert and I think that last time was in 2013 in this very room. The show tonight was supposed to be upstairs in the roomier Marlin Room but one of the support acts needed to use the space as they were performing in the grand ballroom since down here was going to be too tight. I made sure to get to the club in time to catch everyone since I liked the whole setup this evening. Here is how the show went for those that couldn’t join in on the fun.
Candy Brain: I’m going to say that this is the second time that I’ve caught Candy Brain in concert and as far as an Independent Gothic Pop project I rather like them. They are fronted by Bunny who used to do a little keyboard for them and she has a whole Wednesday Addams appeal to her. Chelsea plays the bass while Anton plays guitar. There is no drummer and the band performed to programmed tracks. This aspect takes a little bit away from the “looseness” of the band and the ability to be more free form during a set but it seems to work for them. The crowd this evening seemed to enjoy what was going on up on the stage and immediately afterward the band was hanging around the venue and the merchandise booth. Yeah, they are considered “the local act” on the bill but they handled themselves well and that makes me sad to announce that this was their very last gig for the foreseeable future. They have a CD and a cool button available so hit their Facebook Page and order one up and demand that they return sooner than later. Now it was time for Echo Black.
