The CW’s “Black Lightning” First-Look Trailer

The CW seems unstoppable in their implementing live-action series based on the DC Universe and now with the likes of “Arrow”, “The Flash”, “Legends Of Tomorrow”, “I Zombie” and “Supergirl” under their belt – its time to introduce the viewers to the adventures of “Black Lightning”. The first-look trailer was released the other day and I am presenting it to you below. Take a look and then I’ll return with some thoughts.

The Premise:
Jefferson Pierce, who retired from his superhero persona Black Lightning nine years ago after seeing the effects it had on his family, is forced to become a hero again when the rise of the local gang The One Hundred leads to increased crime and corruption in his community. (thanks Wiki).

Tonight: “iZombie” Season 3 Premiere on The CW (4/4/2017)

Though today might be PiercingMetal’s 12th Anniversary, it’s still business as usual here at the Metal Media Command HQ because resting on ones laurels is not something there is any time for. Not when there is a whole lot of music coming our way and season premieres such as the third time around for The CW Network’s “iZombie”. The series premiere for the new season begins tonight on The CW. Check your own local listings for times.

The Premise: Seattle medical resident Olivia “Liv” Moore is turned into a zombie while attending a boat party. She abandons her career and breaks up with her fiancé, much to the disappointment and puzzlement of her family. She discovers that if she does not periodically satisfy her new appetite for brains, she starts turning into a stereotypical zombie, stupid and homicidal. Instead of feeding by killing innocent people, Liv decides to take a job at the King County morgue and eat the brains of the corpses she autopsies. Her secret is guessed by her boss, Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti. Ravi soon becomes Liv’s friend and confidant, and as a scientist, he is intrigued by her condition. Liv finds out that whenever she eats a dead person’s brain, she temporarily inherits some of their personality traits and experiences flashbacks of their life. Those visions are generally triggered by sights (events or objects) or sounds (repeated sentences). In the case of murder victims, the flashbacks offer clues about their killers. Liv decides to use this new ability to help Police Detective Clive Babineaux solve the crimes, passing herself off as a psychic, Meanwhile, Ravi works to develop a cure for Liv’s affliction, in the hope that one day she will be able to resume her former life. Tonight: “Riverdale” Series Premiere on The CW (1/26/2017)

The live teen drama “Riverdale” gets its season premiere this evening on The CW. It’s the show that I’ve discussed a couple of times when I shared the trailers and while the teaser was nothing to speak of, the extended one makes this seem like quite the curiosity of a show. Below is a photo of the cast sitting in that malt shop that they frequented in the comics and I have to say that they look pretty serious. It makes sense since the extended trailer showed a murder and some duplicity among the principle players. The cast and the folks they portray are below the photo.

The CW Presents: “Riverdale” Extended Trailer (Coming 1/26/2017)

It wasn’t long ago that I posted a teaser trailer for the upcoming teen drama on The CW called “Riverdale”. There wasn’t really much to it and it was under a minute in length but the show features characters that one finds in the “Archie” comics series. The show will begin in January and an extended trailer was released just the other day and I am sharing it with you all now. Check it out.

Some Cast:
K. J. Apa as Archie Andrews
Lili Reinhart as Betty Cooper
Camila Mendes as Veronica Lodge
Cole Sprouse as Jughead Jones
Ashleigh Murray as Josie McCoy
Ross Butler as Reggie Mantle

The CW Presents: “Riverdale” Teaser Trailer (Coming 1/26/2017)

I must admit that I thought I was imagining things when I saw some posts about a live drama series coming to The CW that was going to feature characters from the “Archie” series of comic books. Teen dramas are not really the kind of shows that I would discuss here nor are the “Archie” comics line unless its something super special and different and I have to say that this is a little bit of both. The teaser trailer was posted the other day but since there were numerous items to get to your screens I am putting it up now. Take a look.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’m going to reserve judgement for the moment and hope for a longer trailer before the series premiere in January 2017. Since this was not even a minute in length I think you can understand so please hold your own views back until we get a longer trailer. That’s not too much to ask right? I didn’t think so, so let’s close this one up and get back to the regularly scheduled stuff.
