Uli Jon Roth will bring the “Tokyo Tapes” album to life for his fans. You don’t want to miss his always exciting guitar playing. Opening the show will be the up and coming talents of Tower.
The Details: His sound is that of Heavy Metal legend based on numerous works with the Scorpions and as a solo artist and if you are a guitar slinger who’s paid mind to the wizards of the medium then you know that I am speaking of the incredible Uli Jon Roth. His latest tour is called “Tokyo Tapes Revisited” and this will be a full-on presentation of the classic Scorpions live album. So if you’ve ever worshipped that LP by your stereo speakers you know that this is a show that is not to be missed. That said I am happy to announce that he and his band will once again be returning to the stage of the B.B. King Blues Club and thanks to the venue marketing rock stars, some of the PiercingMetal readers are going to get to enjoy the show for free. Unless I am mistaken, this will be the fourth contest for the guitar wizard and I think that’s pretty awesome too. Alright, more on how to win a ticket is below so check it out.
When and Where: Tuesday, March 14th at B.B. King Blues Club 7:30pm (237 West 42nd Street NYC)

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Way back in the early days I only knew of Uli from the Scorpions recordings but I never saw him live with them at the time or afterward when he began a solo career. It was not until around 2004 or 2005 when I tossed my creative hat into the writing ring and caught a show out in NJ that he was doing with the equally legendary Michael Schenker. From that moment on I was sold and said that I would catch his show whenever he came to town since you never know how often a player like this will come around. Fortunately for us all, he would return several times and be all the more exciting each and every gig. I’m not even a guitar player but I am hypnotized by the level of skills up on the stage. It’s great to find him closing up this run of dates at the famous Times Square venue of B.B. King Blues Club. I’m planning on being there and I wonder what you folks think of the tour.
