It’s great to find that the Netflix Dreamworks series “Voltron: Legendary Defender” had met with a good enough reception to come back for a second season. I love that Netflix lets you binge on a show and get it all out of the way in a single sitting and with that let’s take a look at the second season trailer for the show about the galaxy’s greatest defender.
First Season Recap: Team Voltron has been scattered throughout the universe in the aftermath of a perilous battle with Zarkon, Haggar and the evil Galra Empire. Working to bring the lions back together to form Voltron again, the Paladins’ plan to defeat the Galra once and for all takes them across the universe in search of new worlds and unexpected allies. Find out if their plot to take down Zarkon succeeds when Season 2 of DreamWorks Voltron Legendary Defender premieres on Netflix January 20, 2017.
The San Diego Comic Con is in full sway as you read this and when this convention happens I find myself busy tossing together posts about trailers for upcoming films or the skimpiest of teaser clips. Today is the final day of said convention and one of yesterdays reveals was the first full on trailer for “Doctor Strange” which opens in November of this year. This film will introduce the Master Of The Mystic Arts to the Marvel Cinematic Universe and you can check it out below.
Fans of the “Star Wars” mythology will be excited to check out the Season Three trailer for “Star Wars: Rebels”, a CGI Animated series that airs on Disney XD. Though I’ve not yet caught any episodes myself, I just love the franchise and am eagerly awaiting the upcoming live-action film “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story”. Let’s take a look shall we.
About The Show: Star Wars Rebels is an American 3D CGI animated television series produced by Lucasfilm and Lucasfilm Animation. Beginning fourteen years after Revenge of the Sith and five years before A New Hope, Rebels takes place during an era when the Galactic Empire is securing its grip on the galaxy. Imperial forces are hunting down the last of the Jedi Knights while a fledgling rebellion against the Empire is taking form. (thanks Wiki).
PiercingMetal Thoughts: So like I said, I haven’t seen any of the previous two seasons and will hopefully be able to either get copies of the Blu-ray for a reasonable sum or borrow a friends (hint, hint, hint). I don’t know if they are airing on Netflix at this time but maybe DisneyXD has an On Demand that will let me begin from the very start. It does look good and I am not usually a fan of these kind of shows. What did you think of the third season trailer? Are you already watching or will you be looking to do some DisneyXD and chill in the near future. Chime in down below in the comments section. I’ve also added the Amazon.com links for those who love adding these series to their video collection.
Yesterday Netflix unveiled a second trailer for the upcoming Marvel Studios series “Jessica Jones”. It follows the hit “Daredevil” and will take place in the existing Marvel Cinematic Universe and will be the second of four series that brings Marvels heroes down to the street level. Nice and gritty with a lot of action but anyway, check out this second trailer.
Last night during “The Walking Dead”, the AMC network debuted the trailer for their upcoming series “Preacher”. Its based on the Vertigo comics title of the same name and just in case you missed it somehow, here it is.
PiercingMetal Thoughts: Okay so I don’t know what “Preacher” this series will be about since it didn’t give me any hope that the show will be close to the source material. I could be wrong of course but then again I might be right on point here. For those who read the series, you know how Custer gets possessed by a powerful entity that gives him incredible powers and together with his ramshackle group of associates begins a journey to find God. I didn’t get any of that from the short trailer and yes it is a little early to judge but sometimes they change so many things that it leaves their hard core supporters demanding its cancellation. I really like Dominic Cooper as an actor and have enjoyed his appearances as Howard Stark in the Marvel Cinematic Universe over the last couple of years so am very happy for him so I hope they do the series right. I guess we will just have to wait and see more as they release it. The show also stars Ruth Negga and Joe Gilgun as Tulip and Cassidy respectively. What do you readers think of this one? Let me know in the comments.
