It was just a little over a month ago when I shared the Official Trailer for the now premiering Amazon Prime Video program “The Boys”. This Sony Pictures Television feature is based on a comic series with the same name that was a creation of Garth Ennis. If you missed the trailer posting, please click HERE because I also added a whole bunch of posters that are not seen in this post. Below you’ll find the Official Poster, Premise and Casting so do read on.
Premise: The Boys takes place in “a world where superheroes embrace the darker side of their massive celebrity and fame” and “revolves around a group of vigilantes known informally as ‘The Boys,’ who set out to take down corrupt superheroes with no more than blue-collar grit and a willingness to fight dirty.” Continue reading Now Streaming: “The Boys” on Amazon Prime Video (7/26/2019)→
Before I get into this one, I have to be honest that I am surprised that it took ten years to do a sequel to the fan favorite film “Zombieland”. I say this considering the overall popularity of the scenarios we find played out in a world plagued by a zombie apocalypse. Since “The Walking Dead” comic ended (discussed HERE) and the latest season left us all with worlds of sorrow based on what transpired, a good skull-cracking action comedy of Us against Them will be the perfect balm. Let’s take a look at the first clip from the October opening film “Zombieland: Double Tap”.
The Premise: After the events of the first film, Columbus, Tallahassee, Wichita and Little Rock move to the American heartland as they face off against evolved zombies, fellow survivors and the growing pains of the snarky makeshift family.
Woody Harrelson as Tallahassee
Jesse Eisenberg as Columbus
Emma Stone as Wichita / Krista
Abigail Breslin as Little Rock
Zoey Deutch as Madison
Avan Jogia as Berkeley
Rosario Dawson as Nevada
Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd appear as fictionalized versions of themselves
PiercingMetal Thoughts: So initially I didn’t see the first “Zombieland” installment in the theaters and caught it on HBO or Showtime or something but I loved it. It was a fast-paced fun film with sufficient startles and a lot of great cast banter and circumstances. This first trailer was fun so let’s see what happens. It will be releasing just around the time of the annual NY Comic Con and since I do that event in full, I am not sure I will see this film on its immediate opening but let’s see what happens. That is still some time away. What did you readers think about this trailer? Chime in down below.
It’s been a couple of months since the Teaser Trailer for “It Chapter Two” was posted and if you didn’t see that one just click the highlighted text to be up to snuff. Now, its time for the Final Trailer and you should check the locks on your windows and doors before watching. I’d recommend doing this with the lights on of course. Let’s watch.
The Premise: Twenty-seven years after the Losers Club defeated Pennywise, it returns to terrorize the town of Derry once more. Now adults, the Losers have long since gone their separate ways. However, the kids are disappearing again, so Mike, the only one of the group to remain in their hometown, calls the others home. Damaged by the experiences of their past, they must each conquer their deepest fears to destroy Pennywise once and for all… putting them directly in the path of the clown that became deadlier than ever. Though I’m not an Amazon Prime member, they do have a number of shows that speak to our direct Pop Culture audience like “The Boys” series which is based on the popular Garth Ennis comic book. In this story, not ALL of the superheroes in the world of make believe are out for our best interests and instead are 100% focused on their own. The shows Final Trailer was recently released and is being presented for you down below. I’ll be back at the close with some additional editorial on the matter. Enjoy.

As you’ve likely determined, the reveals from the SDCC 2019 event have been keeping me busy with our Pop Culture side of the fence and since there was so much, I venture to guess that I will be posting a lot more content in the days that follow it. Yesterday, CBS All Access delivered the first full trailer for the 2020 airing “Star Trek: Picard” series. As you know, this is the exclusive streaming service from the popular network and has so far given us series such as “Star Trek: Discovery” and “The Twilight Zone”. Now let’s watch yon trailer, review the premise and casting before I add in any additional editorial notions.
