Continuing along with the comprehensive exploration of Toy Fair 2016 I am now up to the Diamond Select Toys booth. They actually reside in the same region that the DC Direct folks do but you need an individual appointment to examine the products for the coming year. I was excited to be examining their offerings for the third straight year because they have some really interesting licenses lined up. I’m a big fan of the Marvel Select action figures.
Hello again readers and welcome to a brand new chapter from the 2013 American International Toy Fair. With this installments I’ll be exploring the offerings from the Playmates Toys booth and for those new to the brand, they are the folks that give us all of the wonderful Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles action figures, vehicles and playsets. Since these characters are pretty self explanatory, I’ll be leaving most of the talking off of the post and let the images speak to you. After all I have several other chapters to get loaded into the website.
Now that I’ve disclosed the Toys Of The Year that were voted on by the masses, its time to aim the camera at the absolute awesomeness that is to be found in the Javits Center. I’ll be assembling a whole bunch of posts for your viewing please and while some will be broader overviews, there will be others that are dedicated to one or two companies per post. Let’s start off in the DC Direct booth. This is the toy line from the DC Entertainment folks and if you love the classic heroes like Batman, Superman and the rest then you will love these. Here we go with some characters based on Mad Magazine designs.
For the past couple of years, I’ve had the honor of attending Toy Fair as a press representative and share all of the wonderful findings with the readers of the PiercingMetal Blog. It’s an amazing event for sure and just about a week ago they have announced who the nominees of the TOTY for 2013 will be. TOTY stands for “Toy Of The Year” and believe me there is a lot of cool stuff up for the big honors for the coming award. So why are we bringing this up you might ask, well the answer is simple. From November 19th until January 15th, the general public can vote for what they think was the Toy Of The Year and potentially win prizes as well. Follow the link below to cast your vote.
I really hope the Hex Bugs do good and the Lego Ninjago since that is really rather cool and don’t even get me started on how awesome Skylanders Giants is…. Of course only one item can win in the category I am speaking of so make your decision with great care. I’ll be doing the same later on today, after I review all the offerings one more time. Enjoy.
