Over the last few days we’ve had a whole lot of tours announced such as Ozzy Osbourne, Alter Bridge, Dance Gavin Dance, UFO, Tool and the Black Crowes. Instead of linking you to each of them directly, I’m going to recommend that you just open up the full Tours and Festivals Category since it will keep you reading for quite a bit of time. Sadly, among the announcements come the occasional cancellation and this was found with the legendary KISS who had to cancel their Australian tour due to Paul Stanley’s illness. Read on down below for the Official Statement and the affected shows.
The Press Release:
Promoters One World Entertainment and TEG Live today announced that the KISS Australian tour, due to commence next Tuesday, has been cancelled due to illness. KISS and both promoters are absolutely gutted by the news and sincerely apologize to fans. Earlier this week it was announced that U.S doctors had advised Paul Stanley to rest due to a bad case of influenza, prompting the rescheduling of the tour’s first show in Perth to the end of the run and the cancellation of New Zealand. It was hoped the extra few days rest would allow Stanley the chance for a complete recovery so the tour could proceed as planned. However unfortunately this has not occurred. Stanley has an additional infection in his throat requiring complete vocal rest and medication for at least two weeks and possibly longer.
It was only back in April when Metal’s own Prince Of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne offered up the news about his “No More Tours 2” European Run (seen HERE) but sadly after a recent injury has some bad news for his fans on that side of the pond. Watch his video down below.
PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’ll keep this brief and to the point…above all other things I want Ozzy to be as healthy as he can be and if the doctors orders are that no more touring can possibly be done then so be it. Sure, retirement might be as boring as all hell for someone like Ozzy but his health is much more important than our entertainment. Get well soon Ozzy. Oh and before we go, let me remind the readership about his mega-stocked “See You On The Other Side” boxed set. You can peruse this pricey little collectible by clicking HERE and you know that if you are among his most ardent diehards that you need this in your collection. See you next time.
There is some bad news from the camp of Frank Carter and The Rattlesnakes following an accident they were involved in. Read down below the logo for the bands official statement and what is involved.
On Thursday night at 7:20pm I was involved in a serious car accident in Devon, UK. I crawled out of the wreck with some cuts and scrapes, a kneecap in the wrong place, bruised ribs and a headache that won’t go away.
My friend Pete was less fortunate, he was cut from the wreckage by no less than eleven firefighters with a triple fractured pelvis, ruptured spleen, multiple broken ribs and the kind of cuts and bruises you get from being hit by a car.
It was just the other day that I was wondering how the legendary Ozzy Osbourne was coming along after his recent need to postpone some dates on his “No More Tours 2” adventures and while sitting at a press conference for the Lucha Libre, I received the following press statement and wasted no time in sharing it with you all. Read on.
The Press Release:
OZZY OSBOURNE will postpone all his 2019 tour dates, inclusive of shows in North America and Europe, as he recovers from an injury sustained while dealing with his recent bout of pneumonia. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy®-winning singer and songwriter and 2019 Grammy® Special Merit Award recipient fell at his Los Angeles home aggravating years-old injuries (from his 2003 ATV accident) that required surgery last month. OSBOURNE will remain under doctor’s care in Los Angeles as he recovers.
It was only under two weeks ago that we shared the news about Ozzy Osbourne being hospitalized due to the flu (seen HERE) and sadly this ended up becoming pneumonia which is not good at all and finds the musician cancelling numerous live performances to properly recover. Earlier this morning his media team shared the following information.
The Press Release:
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy®-winning singer and songwriter OZZY OSBOURNE has announced that he will now cancel shows in Australia, New Zealand and Japan. This follows news of the postponement of the entire UK and European leg of his “NO MORE TOURS 2” tour on doctors’ orders.
“Ozzy recently developed pneumonia and has spent some time in hospital. Thankfully he is now through the worst part,” says Sharon Osbourne. “His doctors have advised that he stay at home to recuperate for a full six weeks with no travel.”

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I am going to repeat my last closing commentary. In addition to saying “Get Well Soon Ozzy”, I want to stress that all of you be careful out there and especially those of you who are always in big crowds. It doesn’t hurt to carry a small bottle of Purell with you and a packet of Kleenex tissues. During cold and flu season I’d eliminate hand shaking in full and move to fist bumps. Wash your hands often and cover your mouth when you cough to prevent ruining someone else’s day. Sorry for being preachy but I am on the trains every single day and night and sometimes the behavior of other passengers makes me want to run for the hills but I can’t since I am trapped in the car. Once again I say “Get Well Soon Ozzy” and you people be careful as well.
