The Metal Legions were supposed to get a solid dose of Kataklysm during the planned tour with Sepultura last year but with that event being cancelled altogether it has been quite a bit of time since they made their way over to these parts. Luckily for us all they shall be returning and bringing along Aborted as their direct support. More information in the press release follows the poster below. I’ll chime in afterward for good measure
The Press Release: Montreal based death metal powerhouse KATAKLYSM, will tour North America in support of their newly released album Waiting for the End to Come next April with Belgian gore-grinders ABORTED! “It’s been a little while since we hit the road in North America with KATAKLYSM,” commented vocalist Maurizio Iacono. “We were bummed out when our tour with SEPULTURA was cancelled, so we decided to do what our fans have been asking us for and do a headlining run. This is guaranteed to be a good time with our friends in ABORTED and will also be a two part tour; we plan on returning in the Fall again to all the cities we are missing on this first part. Judging by our recent shows, the new material has been going over amazingly well live! We look forward to seeing you guys in April!!!” Continue reading Kataklysm’s Tour Will “Kill The Elite” in 2014→
You might be wondering why I am posting this a few weeks after the tour was first announced and the answer is quite simple. I decided to wait until the full itinerary of dates was unveiled so the fans can begin plotting and planning their attendance for this years “Paganfest America Tour”. The exciting event will find both Korpiklaani and Turisas on the co-headlining status while Chthonic and Varg get things started properly. More after the poster.
PiercingMetal has attended every single “Paganfest America Tour” when it happened to land in our fair Metal Metropolis and I am happy to add that we have supported all of the bands on this package during their other visits as well. That being said I can attest with some level of certainty that the fans who attend any of these events across the tour run will greatly enjoy themselves. For those new to the bands performing for some reason let me quickly line out that Korpiklaani are the lords of the Finnish Folk Metal scene and their blend of traditional instruments and melodies amped up to twelve makes for a whirlwind of a good time. The mighty Turisas will find you seeking armaments to ride into vengeful battle with their songs of might and adventure. These Finnish Metal warriors sport battle paint and mean business with every note. The Darker Metal sounds of Taiwan’s Chthonic will bring a Far East vibe to the night that will enthrall and of course Varg while similar in appearance to Turisas with the warrior paint have a different musical presentation and leave us with an event that will please all Metal senses. The U.S. run will also feature a band from our own soil called Winterhymn who are new to my ears but you can be sure I will be looking into them as well. Fans of the Teutonic Titans Of Thrash will surely be appeased with the news that Schmier will be bringing Destruction to North America in the tail end of March and while the folks at Homeland Security need not be concerned since it’s not “THAT” kind of Destruction, you can rest assured that our celebration of March Metal Madness will likely be intensified when they stop here in NYC. More from me after the poster and the press release.
The Press Copy: “Touring to support their 2013 release Spiritual Genocide, German thrash metal institution DESTRUCTION will launch their North American headlining tour on Tuesday, March 18th in Worcester, Massachusetts with direct support from Brazilian death metal kings KRISIUN. Guest openers will be North Carolina metallers WIDOW (March 18th – 24th) and California death thrashers EXMORTUS (March 25th – April 14th). Continue reading Sound The Alarm! The card carrying members of the Anvil Pounder’s Union will be excited at the news that those Canuckleheads of Metal will be returning for a Spring 2014 tour that they are calling “Hope In Hell”. It’s the name of their most recent album in case you didn’t know and more information comes after the poster below.
The Press Release:
Together now for over thirty five years, the band Anvil received a shot of adrenaline toward their Metal renaissance thanks to the “Anvil: Story Of Anvil” film back in 2008. It was through this documentary that more and more fans found themselves discovering this “brand new Metal thing”so many years after their original inception. Fronted by the Wildman himself, Lips Kudlow along with the pounding drums of the great master Robb Reiner the band continues to deliver exciting and fun Metal shows with Sal Italiano on the bass. It’s loud, it’s fast and its obnoxious at times but at the end of the day you know exactly what you witnessed and you will likely return time and again when possible. The tour seems to begin in our own NYC (bolded below) and helps our concert going fans properly close out on “March Metal Madness” and you can bet that I am going to plan on being there to bring our faraway fans into the mix. So you say you like The Ocean and you mean the band and not the cooling calming surf of vacations spots everywhere AND you also like Scale The Summit, we;; my fiends do I have a tour announcement for your because both of those bands are headed out on a run that will span the entire month of March. Talk about getting your March Metal Madness planned early (that’s why I did the “MMM” in the subject in case you wondered). More from their official Press Type Resources after the poster.
Official Press Proclamations: “In just over a month, THE OCEAN will be returning to North America for the first time since last year’s Summer Slaughter takeover. Sponsored by MetalSucks, the journey will commence on March 5th in Seattle, include two performances in Austin, Texas at SXSW and finds the band co-headlining with Prosthetic Recording artists Scale the Summit. Additional support will be provided by special guests The Atlas Moth and Silver Snakes. The tour welcomes new THE OCEAN recruits, drummer Paul Seidel and guitarist Damian Murdoch, who replace Luc Hess and Jona Nido, both of whom departed the band on mutual terms late last year. Comments THE OCEAN founding guitarist Robin Staps: “Summer Slaughter was the final US tour for Luc and Jona. These clips bring back good memories of our last Summer together and a lot of crazy parties in parking lots across the country. Now I’m really looking forward to getting back to the US with our new guys. We’ve started rehearsing for our upcoming tours this week, and there’s a really good vibe in the room. We’re hungry to get out again, we’ve only been home for two months now but it already feels too long.” Continue reading The Ocean & Scale The Summit Pair Up For 2014 “MMM” Tour→
