Though I’ve been documenting the news for some time now since it’s all been initially announced, it seems as though the end is drawing ever so closer for fans of the legendary Slayer. Just a short time ago the band revealed what is listed as “The Final Campaign” which will lead them to the end of their storied career and dominance in the Heavy Metal genre. Read on down below.
The Press Release: On Saturday, November 2, 2019, Slayer – Tom Araya/bass and vocals, Kerry King/guitars, Gary Holt/guitars, and Paul Bostaph/drums – will set off on The Final Campaign, the seventh and final leg of its farewell world tour. This last hurrah will start at the ExploreAsheville Arena in Asheville, NC, and see the band taking its goodbye bow at the Los Angeles Forum on Saturday, November 30. Accompanying Slayer for this last ride are Primus, Ministry and Philip H. Anselmo & The Illegals performing a vulgar display of Pantera, who will support on all dates. Tickets go on sale this Friday, July 12 at 10AM local; limited VIP packages will be available. Log on to www.slayer.net for all ticketing and package details.
Slayer’s Final World Tour began on May 10, 2018 with the band’s intention to play as many places as possible, to make it easy for the fans to see one last Slayer show and say goodbye. By the time the 18-month trek wraps on November 30, the band will have completed seven tour legs plus a series of one-off major summer festivals, performing more than 140 shows in 30-countries and 40 U.S. states.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Okay so this is a solid tour for sure but what the hell guys, not a single NYC or East Coast Date? I guess that’s what makes this the West Coast leg after all. Truth be told a visit to my neck of the woods will be tricky since there isn’t a B.B. Kings, a Highline Ballroom nor an Irving Plaza to play (the latter just shut its doors the other night for a year-long renovation – discussed HERE). Webster seems to avoid proper Metal shows at the moment and nothing is happening at Stage 48. I’ve been a fan of Dragonforce since I first heard them with the at the time new ablum “Sonic Firestorm” and was able to catch quite a few of their earliest visits to my region. I’ve not caught them for a couple of years though but that just happens in a city like ours with something coming to visit almost every single night. That being said I am happy to find our Friends in Metal over at Team Starkill joining the bill. If you should be attending at all, do not miss this band. I’ve been a fan for years now and kinda think I know what I am talking about. Dance With The Dead is a new name to me so I will be looking them up as time permits. Closing up I wonder what you think about this tour. You can chime in down below of course as its always awesome to hear from you.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: It’s without question that Ghost has become an arena touring act but before we celebrate this realization let’s remember all the Papas that have come and gone that helped this to even become the case. I missed the boat on Papa Emeritus I but managed to catch Papa II and Papa III a few times. I have not yet witnessed the Cardinal in all of his glory and hope to rectify that before its too late. As this is about a European tour I don’t have much to add to the mix but isn’t it great to watch the continuing rise of the mighty Ghost. Soon all shall be converted to their dark musical cause. As you know full well, the bands musical infiltration has no boundaries and envelopes both older fan and the younger ones as well. If you doubt me about the last part, you should remember that I broke some news about a High School Choir performing one of the deep cuts from their recent “Prequelle” album. If you missed that report just click HERE to check it out. I’ll close up now and ask any of our readers who might be in Europe what they think about the news. I am sure some of the US fans will be looking into flights for some of their favorite countries to try and see the band in that setting. Ciao for now.
