At the time of this little summary, I think that I have managed to see the band Starkill about five times over the recent years. They’re always an exciting band in concert and good folks to talk to at their merchandise table after the set. They’re all engaging and appreciative of the interest shown in them. Recently, they added a fifth member to the lineup with a young lady name Sarah Lynn Collier joining as their vocalist but don’t worry, Parker Jameson is still handling some of that. The band has chosen to introduce her to their world of fans in this throttling version of the Christmas classic made famous by Mariah Carey with “All I Want For Christmas Is You”. If you think the idea of Starkill doing a Christmas song is a bit strange I suggest that you dig into the Twisted Sister, Misfits and Dropkick Murphys offerings before casting stones. Prosthetic Records Presents: “Erase Me” (Official Video) by Starkill

The guys in Starkill are currently out on tour supporting the Dark Tranquillity/Swallow The Sun dates and if there is still the means to catch this great package I cannot stress enough that you do it. The bands material now resides comfortably among the Prosthetic Records artist roster and the latest album is entitled “Shadow Sleep”. Just a short while ago, the new label released the first video from the brand new album wiith “Erase Me”. Check out the clip below and then I will toss in some thoughts about it afterwards.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: This is a simple one for me since this is pretty much a straight up performance and preparation sort of clip. During the exciting song we watch the guys on the concert stage interacting with their fans and working in the studio on their craft and potentially some new music that they are eager to release as well. I think of this kind of clip as a glimpse into the days of their lives if you should happen to be hanging around with Starkill. Everyone is in the clip of course with Parker, Shawn, Tony and Spencer but with him being the lead singer as well as one of the guitarists, Mr. Jameson gets the most screen time. The song is pretty badass as well but I will be discussing that stuff in the larger album review coming soon. I hope you enjoyed the short film and have managed to catch them in concert as well. This is a very good band and one you’d want to support.
