Metal Fans are going to happily leave 2014 behind with all of the fantastic tours that are awaiting them as soon as 2015 is here and ready to say hello. We’ve already discussed that the Black and Death Metal fans are going to be over the full moon based on the visits happening by both Watain & Mayhem’s Tour along with the Cannibal Corpse & Behemoth Tour and now it’s time to get the Metalcore blood to a boil with the revelation that Suicide Silence is embarking on a headlining run. According to what I am reading this is the band’s first ever US headlining run and they will bring along Emmure, Within The Ruins and Fit For An Autopsy to make sure you are exhausted by the end of the night. I’ve snagged the tours promotional poster and pieces of the press copy that went out for you all to indulge in along with the dates. We can talk more about it after you read it so get moving
The Press Release:
Fresh off the heels of their successful European headliner,California based extreme metal titans SUICIDE SILENCE, will return to the US on a headlining run this winter dubbed the “Stronger Than Faith Tour”! The band will be continuing on their crusade in support of their juggernaut release “You Can’t Stop Me”, which came in at #16 on the U.S. Billboard Top 200 Chart upon its release this past July. “We had an amazing time this last fall on tour and now it is time to really bring the fire on our first US headlining tour of 2015,” says vocalist Eddie Hermida. “We are bringing our good friends in EMMURE, WITHIN THE RUINS and FIT FOR AN AUTOPSY out this time so be ready for an ass whoopin’ you won’t be able to cry home to your mom about! Come early and hang out with us this spring on the ‘Stronger Than Faith’ tour!”
“SUICIDE SILENCE and EMMURE have been friends for a long, long time,” adds guitarist Mark Heylmun. “It’s been over 6 years since we’ve got to do a tour like this one coming up so to say I’m excited is a massive understatement. So come out and hang out because this is gonna be one for the record books.” The tour kicks off in Santa Cruz, CA on February 17th, and concludes in Tucson, AZ on March 25th.

Just in case you missed the news that was announced the other day, it seems as Hernan “Eddie” Herminda (current lead singer for All Shall Perish) has officially been announced as the new lead vocalist for Suicide Silence. He replaces Mitch Lucker who was killed in a motorcycle accident back in November 2012.
According to the Suicide Silence page, Eddie has moved on completely from All Shall Perish to dedicate his time and focus on Suicide Silence which means that there is an open position in ASP immediately. Singers who think that they have the chops to do this kind of stuff should start digging around for how to submit a demo for consideration. While I’ve never managed to catch Suicide Silence in the live sense before I had caught All Shall Perish doing their thing. As a matter of fact the shots that you see in this post were taken by me when they were one of the many bands performing on the “Summer Slaughter” Tour of 2010. If you ask me I feel that he is a solid choice for the job so let’s see if the fans of Lucker and the band will rally behind him. At least another name band singer is moving into the role so that should be a little easier a transition.

This has been a terrible week of news in our region and sadly I must continue the process by informing our readers that Mitch Lucker, lead singer of Suicide Silence has died. His death comes from injuries that were sustained during a motorcycle accident – He was 29 years of age and he leaves behind a wife and daughter, his band mates of many years and his worldwide support of fans. Clearly he will be missed.
On behalf of the PiercingMetal site, we send condolences to all who loved him and thank him for the music that he gave his fans and the world. Rest In Peace Mitchell.
UPDATE 11/7/2012: A fund has been set up in order to help his daughter’s education going forward and fans can investigate that by clicking this link: http://www.suicidesilence.net/donate/ Those who donate $20 or more will receive a special memorial shirt for their kindness.
