To Our Star Wars Celebration Fans and Friends:
At Star Wars Celebration, the health and safety of our fans, attendees, exhibitors, guests and staff is always our number one priority. PiercingMetal Thoughts: I think that this is a great idea since we are all under lockdown unless we’re viewed as “essential” workforce and these films might be just what most of us need to escape the constant uncertainty of the day based on the Coronavirus pandemic. It’s nothing to be trifled with that’s for sure so I hope you are being safe out there. Currently I do not subscribe to the Disney+ service since I only have a small Kindle Fire tablet and my PS3 is not set up with an app for me to watch on the television so I will be pulling my copies of these classics out of my video library and watching them the old fashioned way. I’ve also been working my way through some of the Marvel Studios films when I am not trying to keep our readership engaged with the website. What do you think of this news? Do you subscribe? Will you watch these films another way if you don’t? Chime in down below and if you need some of them still, I’ve loaded all of them down below on Amazon.com for you to order.
The Press Release:
Announced earlier today at ComicsPRO in Portland, Oregon, Marvel Comics will be putting the final chapter of the Skywalker saga to the page in a comics adaptation of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Writer Jody Houser (Star Wars: TIE Fighter) and artist Will Sliney (Star Wars: The Rise of Kylo Ren) will be teaming up to retell this epic story in STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER ADAPTATION #1. In addition to the shocking twists and turns that were present in the film, the five-issue limited series will also have brand-new story material for readers to enjoy!
“As a lifelong Star Wars fan, it was an honor to be asked to be a part of wrapping up the Skywalker saga with Marvel Comics,” Houser said. “We have some fun plans to add scenes and material that weren’t seen in the movie.”
Relive Rey’s quest, the Resistance’s desperate last stand, and the return of an old enemy when STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER ADAPTATION #1 hits stands this June!
STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER ADAPTATION #1 (of 5): Written by JODY HOUSER; Art by WILL SLINEY; Cover by PHIL NOTO
INCLUDES UNREVEALED STORY! FROM BEYOND THE OUTER RIM, AN OLD ENEMY RETURNS! REY and the RESISTANCE set out on a desperate quest to stop the threat of the FINAL ORDER! Can they succeed where Jedi Master LUKE SKYWALKER himself failed? And what is KYLO REN’S real goal in partnering with the resurrected PALPATINE? The landmark Skywalker saga is adapted by Jody (TIE FIGHTER) Houser and Will Sliney (THE RISE OF KYLO REN). Featuring extended and deleted scenes.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: While I realize that this final installment in “The Skywalker Saga” left a lot of fans for want, I have to admit that I really enjoyed it. I felt it was a proper closing to a group of characters that were as much as part of my childood as my adulthood and kept my geek interests fed properly. Now as far as the comic book adaptations of these films, I’ve not purchased any of these for myself since “Star Wars: Return Of The Jedi” and nowadays I will just grab a collected edition of the mini-series since that is where I am on them. Maybe I will snag this one just the same but June is a bit of a ways away and there is no sense in deciding right now. I’ve got a lot of Toy Fair items to finish up so will end this particular announcement with the question of “what do you think about this news?” Are you planning on purchasing and for that matter, did you enjoy the film? Chime in down below and I will see you next time.
