We’re only a couple of more months away from the next exciting chapter in the growing Marvel Cinematic Universe with “Captain Marvel”. In order to get us even more amped up about the new film, the House Of Ideas will be releasing 10 brand-new comic books under their “True Believers” line. I’ve discussed these extensively at this point and cannot recommend them any more than I already have. With a $1 price tag on each of them, it’s a perfect way to not only introduce an impressionable young reader into the hobby but its also a cool way to have a few “reading copies” in a small box for you to peruse. Let’s take a look at the ten re-issues that focus on the Captain Marvel side of the fence. All issues run “32” pages with the exception of one that spans “40”.

We’ve been lauding the arrival of the Sony Animated feature “Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse” for a few months now and only recently shared some super cool promotional posters with the readership. You can check those out by clicking THIS LINK in the event you missed it, and not to worry because the second Official Trailer is in there as a link as well. I’ve tried to cover all the bases for your ease of enjoyment. Anyway, before I lose too much track of the point – the film opens today in theaters everywhere. Let’s review the Theatrical Poster, premise and cast before I close out with some editorial opinion.
It’s been a couple of months since the share of the second Official Trailer for the soon to open computer animated feature “Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse”, and if you were sleeping in that day and missed it, please click HERE because I want you to be on point about this one as best as possible. The film features the Miles Morales Spider-Man who is a super hot comic book character at the moment and it was cool to see Sony Pictures giving him the chance to shine. As you know, Sony holds the license for the Marvel Comics property and has begun to build their own Spider-Verse with this feature and most recently “Venom” (which was a live-action film). To help celebrate the opening of the film, I’ve culled together a number of the promotional posters that I found on assorted film mediums. I’ll start with the teaser poster and close us out with the Official Theatrical one. Now, check them out….and by all means enjoy.
Comic book readers around the world are shocked and deeply saddened at the news that the legendary Marvel Comics co-founder Stan Lee had passed away earlier today. The industry icon was 95 years old and at the time of our memorial composition the COD is not clear. Stan had been in questionable health over the last few months and while 95 is clearly a fantastic bit of time to have spent here on Earth, we are still sad since he is the reason that so many of our childhood imaginations were so vivid and inspiring. Speaking personally I was a big fan for many, many years and have been reading Marvel Comics stories since the early 70’s. I guess its safe to consider me one of the diehards and it was all thanks to Stan Lee who brought these characters to my regular reading times. Before I continue along, these images were all snapped by me at the NY Comic Con with some of them being from back in 2011 and the more recent ones from 2016.
There is so much to say about the late great Stan Lee but I will leave you to read all of that in his Official Wikipedia entry which is linked at the close of this toast. You all should know how he co-founded Marvel Comics and was the creator of such characters like Fantastic Four, Amazing Spider-Man, The X-Men, Incredible Hulk, Mighty Thor, The Avengers, Ant-Man and The Wasp, Black Panther, The Inhumans and so very many more. Most of my childhood allowance went to the purchase of these monthly issues and while I don’t have the super duper rare ones I do have a lot of the rest. Most of you are probably in the same boat if you were longtime collectors. Thanks to Stan Lee my creative worlds were expanded and presented right before my eyes. It was amazing, fantastic and incredible and by the way, that’s the title of an illustrated memoir to Stan’s life which I highly recommend. I’ll link to it down below so you can look into a copy.
