Welcome back my friends, you have safely arrived at the second chapter of my coverage of the NY Comic Con. I’m still on the Day One stuff and if you’ve missed any of the posts that preceded this one, just click on THIS LINK as it will open a battery of content for you. I’ll make sure to add this tag to every intro going forward so its easier to keep up with the fun but now let’s get right back into the mix of NYCC 2017. I’m still wandering around the area known as “The Block” and sometimes I find some interesting stuff around here. Let’s continue with the help of this horrific looking Venom. You know he has a movie coming out next year as well.
Well hello again my friends and welcome back to the continuing visual explorations from the 2016 NY Comic Con. I’m up to my third chapter and will only be speaking every now and again as it applies. Our next fifty photographs begin with this lovely pair of Gotham City Sires in Poison Ivy and Catwoman. Let’s wander the aisles together again.
I can hardly believe that its October already but we are here at that time of year once again and one thing that October brings when you live in NYC is the NY Comic Con. Yes my dear readers, NYCC has arrived and taken over the Jacob Javits Center for its 2015 Mega-event. This is a special year for NY Comic Con because it is the 10th year that they are doing it and as you might expect, it sold out very far in advance outside of a few small batches of tickets that were kept for use at another convention and for Midtown Comics. Once again I was fortunate enough to secure the Press Credentials and since these badges look so awesome I am sharing it with you below. They seem to be keeping with “The Walking Dead” show premise and the media badge has Rick Grimes displayed. Check it out before we get started.
These posts will limit the chit chat unless I deem it necessary and as per my usual practice will feature about fifty photos per narrative for each respective days focus. It’s easier for you to visually digest and lets the parties presented find themselves better. Now as I’d mentioned, this years event was the 10th for the NY Comic Con and my oh my how it has grown. Personally speaking, I come from an era where if you told friends that you were going to the comic convention they would look at you like you had three heads. Today its grown so far beyond comics it will stagger the imagination. These giant logo standups were positioned all around the Javits Center in honor of the milestone. Smart Cosplayers made sure to do shoots in front of them.
Earlier today I posted a press preview for SuperheroStuff.com which is a company that delivers quite a bunch of uhm “super hero stuff” 🙂 This was part of a Toy Fair 2016 Press Preview event that I attended with Skeleton Pete at a big warehouse/office space on the West Side called Domain. The other part of the preview was this awesome device called “Sphero”. It’s a robotic ball that is controlled by an app on your mobile device of choice. We would also be meeting his brother “Ollie” today which worked in the same fashion but was a different looking device for sure.
“Ollie” looked like something that would be fun as well and seemed a tad more rugged than the ball only design of “Sphero”. I loved that he had treads. Media present at the event were welcome to give both of these robot thingies a try. I had to say that I enjoyed the idea of it.
