If you are the kind of Marvel Studios cinephile such as myself, then you are probably still reeling from the overall spectacle that was “Avengers: Endgame” and if you haven’t seen it by now I am really wondering why you would even be visiting a site like ours since we live for the stuff over here. Anyway, I am veering off course a little here. Today is the opening of the 20th Century Fox film “Dark Phoenix” which continues the X-Men franchise that was under their control for so many a decade. I’ve posted a few features about this film already and they can all be perused HERE in case you missed anything. As you know by now, Disney purchased Fox and the deal was 100% sealed and the news shared HERE in the Business Section of “The Chronicles” of Piercing Ken. You should read that and then see if that side website has anything else you might enjoy. I’m happy to have you visiting but I digress once again, let’s review the theatrical poster, premise and casting once more for the “Dark Phoenix” film.

The Premise: After the events of X-Men: Apocalypse, the X-Men face their most formidable and powerful foe: one of their own, Jean Grey. During a rescue mission in space, Jean is nearly killed when she is hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but far more unstable. Wrestling with this entity inside her, Jean unleashes her powers in ways she can neither comprehend nor contain. With Jean spiraling out of control, and hurting the ones she loves most, she begins to unravel the very fabric that holds the X-Men together. Now, with this family falling apart, they must find a way to unite – not only to save Jean’s soul, but to save our very planet from aliens who wish to weaponize this force and rule the galaxy.

20th Century Fox: “Dark Phoenix” Final Trailer (6/7/2019)

I know this sounds horrible to say out loud but with “Avengers: Endgame” only nine days away from being released, I don’t know a single solitary comic book movie fan who is discussing the final 20th Century Fox big screen X-Men release “Dark Phoenix”. Now, perhaps there are some of you new arrivals to the planet who don’t know about either film, so if you click HERE you will see the “Avengers: Endgame” posts while THIS LINK will bring you to any of the “Dark Phoenix” stuff. Since we’ve begun sharing news about this movie, Marvel’s purchase of 20th Century Fox has gone through and eventually we will see a lot of X-Men interplay in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Cool your jets though because this isn’t going to happen overnight. This film was supposed to be released in February but now that is happening in June and the Final Trailer has just been released. I’ve embedded it here for you below along with the premise, casting and the Theatrical Poster. Let’s take a look shall we.

When we got the second trailer for “Dark Phoenix” back in February (as seen HERE), I have to admit that it feels like a forever ago because time has been zipping by us and let’s face it – The World of Geekdom is counting down the days until the release of Marvel Studios “Avengers: Endgame” as that is the culmination of some 21 films that preceded it. Now, “Dark Phoenix” is purported to be the final in the series of 20th Century Fox X-Men films because the rights are now again under Marvel Studios control with Disney owning Fox in full. While I anticipate a few more trailers, when it comes to the assorted “TV Spots” I decided to cull them all together here. At the time of this posting, there has only been one but sometimes we see quite a few very short teases to the film hitting the networks. As I notice a new clip, I will add it down below the Official Teaser Poster and mark the date and title for good measure. The full length trailers will keep getting a post of their own so you might want to bookmark this post until the film comes out so you don’t miss any TV Spots. Here we go.
