Greetings followers of the comings and goings in the world of the band Ghost. The band recently offered up a remixed version of their single “Dance Macabre” and I am here to tell you a few of my thoughts out it. You might recall that back in May they shared what amounted to an “Instagram Story” video that showed reactions and interactions about the tune and if you missed my summary on that one just click HERE to be up to speed. So now what do we think about the bands remix by Carpenter Brut?

Title: “Africa” (Single)
Label: Crush Music/Atlantic Records
Release Date: 5/29/2018
Before I begin this one I should make an admission that I cannot for the life of me remember when the last time that I actually sat down and listened to Weezer was. This is not a hater thing so please don’t come “Undone” about the matter (sorry cheap joke for sure), but the truth is I was listening to much heavier stuff at the time of their emergence. Sure they might have looked just like Buddy Holly but their sound was more for the friends I had playing covers in bars than my own which brings us to the here and now. The other day I was tipped to the bands cover of the megahit “Africa” which was oritgnally done by the legendary Toto. With this being a favorite track of all time I just had to give it a listen and here are some thoughts about it.

Title: “Zombie” Acoustic (Single)
Label: Eleven Seven Music
Release Date: 5/25/2018
Genre: Acoustic Rock
What’s that saying again? “So nice they did it twice” – I think that is the line or something else very close to it. Whatever the exact verbiage might be, the thought I am getting at is the fact that the brand new band Bad Wolves have achieved a level of bombastic success with their cover of The Cranberries song “Zombie” that was released as a single in memory of that bands singer Dolores O’Riordan. At the point of this writing the world at large still does NOT know the cause of the singers passing which is a shame. Now the Bad Wolves version of the song was nothing less than jarring and powerful and after I listened a few times was added to the content of our website on a summary you can examine HERE. The other day the band issued an acoustic version of the track and here are my thoughts about it.

Title: “Fun, Fun, Fun” (Single)
Label: Capitol Records
Release Date: 5/10/2018
Over the years we’ve found many of our favorite Rock bands doing albums and live concert experiences with classical orchestras and while some of them had been extraordinary to listen to there have been others that seemed like they were simply following the trend and are to be avoided. As a writer about the heavier side of music my two first favorites fall to the KISS and Metallica offerings and these have led me to the recently released single by the legendary Beach Boys. I don’t think I need to explain the inclusion of such a group on our pages because I’ve aimed at expanding our focus to other notable names when there was a chance to do so for a while now. Now while they were before so many of our times (yes mine as well people), I did still grow to appreciate many more worlds of melody thanks to their most amazing hits so let’s discuss just what the first single “Fun, Fun, Fun” by the Beach Boys with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is shall we?

Title: “Never The Heroes” (Single)
Label: Columbia Records
Release Date: 3/2/2018
Genre: Heavy Metal
Though I’m not going to argue about the third single being released only days before the bands upcoming “Firepower” album I will admit that it took me a little by surprise. Perhaps I would have thought differently if it was released two weeks in advance as opposed to one but here we are with the track “Never The Heroes”. It follows “Lightning Strike” and “Firepower” so let’s get right down to business with what this one does for me as a few decades deep fan of Judas Priest.
