Watch AMC’s “Preacher” (Season Two) Official Trailer

Hey there my serial television loving readers, I wondered if you ever gave the small screen adaptation of the hit Vertigo series “Preacher” a chance when it ran during its first season a few months ago. Did you like it? I watched it and have to admit that I was left for want with it despite liking the work that Cooper and Gilgun did. Anyway, a second season is coming and here is the full official trailer for what lies ahead. This might sound like a bit of a deja vu and it is of course since the same words apply. Here we go.

The Premise: “Preacher” is an adaptation of the intense comic book series that was done by Steve Dillon and Garth Ennis. It ran as a part of the DC Comics Vertigo imprint for “75” total issues. The show does NOT follow the general canon of the printed page.

Tonight: “Preacher” Series Premiere On AMC (5/22/2016)

Fans of the DC Vertigo Comics series “Preacher” should be excited as tonight the AMC Network will premiere the first episode of the new live series. The Black Comedy is one of my own favorite comic series and I think that the creators of the show will have their work cut out for them. The Show: Preacher is an upcoming American television series developed by Evan Goldberg, Seth Rogen and Sam Catlin for AMC starring Dominic Cooper. It is an adaptation of the comic book series created by Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon, and published by DC Comics’ Vertigo imprint. The series was officially picked up on September 9, 2015, with a ten-episode order and is scheduled to premiere on May 22, 2016.

AMC and DC to give away 100,000 copies of Preacher #1

Thanks to the fine folks at DC Comics and AMC Network, fans can get a copy of “Preacher” #1 for absolutely free so be sure to ask your local comic book shop for one when you go to pick up your weekly haul on Wednesday. The series was a compelling read for the Vertigo Comics imprint of the company and was written by Garth Ennis with art by Steve Dillon and painted covers by Glen Fabry. It was definitely a title for a more mature audience and since its final issue back in 2000 the full series has been reprinted in several collected editions for you newer readers to add to your library. The title will get its own live television show this coming Sunday and star Dominic Cooper as the “Preacher” Jesse Custer along with Ruth Negga and Joe Gilgun as Tulip and Cassidy. The cover of this free title has been drawn to show the players for the television show.
