As you read this, the 91st Annual Academy Awards are underway and it was an awesome surprise to learn that the legendary members of Queen + Adam Lambert were going to open up the ceremony. The band delivered their seminal hits “We Will Rock You” and “We Are The Champions” from their classic album “News Of The World”. Let’s take a look.
As you know by now, the film “Bohemian Rhapsody” broke all sorts of box office records and has won numerous awards already. Let’s see how it does during the ceremony. If it wins the “Best Picture of the Year” award, I will surely return and raise a glass to its honor. It’s my hope that you’ve seen this film by now and if not I highly recommend it because I loved it and couldn’t wait to own it on Blu-ray and the soundtrack on CD. I’ve embedded links to Amazon.com for you to do that purchasing stuff if you haven’t already. Right now I am flipping back and forth between the broadcast while trying to finish watching a screener of another film that I will be discussing here on the website. No, I am not telling you which one so please be patient. Now, may I have the envelope please…..The Oscar goes to……
Last night, the 76th Annual Golden Globe Awards were given out for excellence in film and television. I shared the complete winners list over on “The Chronicles” of Piercing Ken which you can explore HERE when the time permits but right now I am here to help celebrate and raise my fist in the air to two of the big wins across the program and the film “Bohemian Rhapsody” which we have discussed at some length over the last few months here on the website.
The first celebration goes to actor Rami Malek who won “Best Actor In A Drama”. Malek as you might have surmised portrayed the late great Freddie Mercury and I had to admit I thought that he was terrific in the role. I never saw Queen in concert and only have the numerous videos from MTV and concert footage from Eagle Rock Entertainment to show me what it was like and I must say that Malek seemed pretty spot on. Congratulations Rami.
The tour announcements don’t end with the ones about Judas Priest and the returning “Return To Rockville” my friends, so sit down and prepare for an audience with their majesties – Queen & Adam Lambert!!!!

With the film opening up in just about a week, I was very surprised to find them waiting to release the Final Trailer at this time. Usually we have a few weeks of lead in to absorb it and find the clip making the rounds on television and on websites such as this one but here we are.
