I’d say that it feels like only yesterday that I was sharing some visuals about an awesome set of action figures from those folks over at Hasbro Toys but it was yesterday so let’s move on. The interesting thing is that this information was circulating around the same time as the low down on the “Spider-Man: Homecoming” action figures for the film that opens in July. This news is a right surprise because its coming only a couple of weeks before the “Guardians Of The Galaxy” Vol. 2 film which we’ve also been discussing here and sharing some trailers like THIS ONE on the website for a few months. Hasbro has just unveiled the Second Wave of action figures for this film and I’ve culled the images from Amazon.com to share with you below. Let’s take a look.
Hey there my comic loving friends, I can hardly believe that I am saying this but “Welcome To December!!!” – Yeah we are here and that means that 2016 will soon be making its exit and opening up the door to a brand new year. I’m starting off the month in the usual fashion with our comic book first issue narratives and am going to do the Marvel Comics stuff first this time because there are more new titles launching this month and I want you to have a jump on them for your weekly pull list. As always there are numerous different variant covers available for these titles but some you might have to special request from your shop since I know many don’t stock them all. Other titles are currently running but we are only showcasing the first issues with help from the Marvel Entertainment publicity team. Here we go.
IVX #1 (of 6): THIS IS IT! The X-Men and Inhumans have been on a collision course since the link was proven between the Inhumans’ precious Terrigen Mist and the sickness and death of many mutants. When Beast discovers that the mutants have only two weeks before the planet is uninhabitable for them, an Inhuman/mutant war is unavoidable. Co-written by Charles Soule (Uncanny Inhumans, Daredevil) and Jeff Lemire (Extraordinary X-Men, Moon Knight), IVX delivers sensational set pieces, gargantuan grudge matches, all drawn by the sensational Leinil Francis Yu! Whether you’re for the X-MEN or the INHUMANS, IVX promises to shatter the Marvel Universe as you know it!

According to press releases “Civil War II is an upcoming comic book crossover event published by Marvel Comics that is scheduled to debut in June 2016. The limited series, created by writer Brian Michael Bendis and artists David Marquez and Justin Ponsor, is a sequel to 2006’s Civil War. In Civil War II opposing factions of superheroes lead by Captain Marvel and Iron Man battle in an allegory about determinism versus free will” – For the past couple of weeks I had been receiving variant covers that showcase the exciting players in this conflict and as new ones arrive I will append this posting. Check them out down this post.
The Marvel Universe is at a crossroads. A new power has emerged, one that can predict the future—for good or ill— and the heroes of the Marvel Universe are faced with a choice: Wield the power of “predictive justice” to change the future as they see fit, or reject it and allow tomorrow to unfold unaltered. Protect the future. Change the future. Choose your side.
I’ve said for awhile that is was time for the Marvel Cinematic Universe to get more cosmic and what better way to do it than to bring “The Guardians Of The Galaxy” to the big screen in the teams live-action debut. Check out the poster below and then we can discuss a little deeper.
The Premise: I will not even defer to the film’s Wiki entry because their plot reveals too much for me to share in this new broadcast post but essentially the film features a disparate and rag tag group of unlikely heroes from numerous worlds and species. When Thanos dispatches a dangerous henchman Ronan The Accuser to retrieve an artifact that he needs they band together and realize that they can help protect the galaxy from threats of this kind. The trailers have shown that there is a healthy dose of tongue in cheek comedic lines to be found in the film but I am okay with that since Marvel always did have a sense of humor when it was necessary. I don’t think we will be getting slapstick here so don’t worry. I like what I have seen so far and I really enjoyed the original Guardians team that had Starhawk, Charlie – 27, Martinex and Vance Astro so I am hopeful that this does the task that it is supposed to and expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos where so much more cool stuff awaits its fans. Can Captain Marvel or Adam Warlock be far from making appearances or am I dreaming while typing this narrative for you. Only time will tell. Readers might be interested in learning that while the film is only opening up today is the everywhere sense, they have already confirmed that we shall see a sequel. I think I know where “Avengers 3” will be heading. So let’s take a look at the cast and tell me my friends will you see this film? What are your hopes? Please no spoilers if you have somehow been lucky enough to see it somewhere. Continue reading Opening Today: “Guardians Of The Galaxy” (8/1/2014)→
Hey readers, how is your summer coming along so far? I hope that it has been grand and that some of you have even managed to squeeze some vacation into your plans. Now its time to say that without any further adieu, here is my monthly presentation of the Marvel Comics titles that are being delivered under their branding of the “All-New Marvel Now!”. As I have done before, these are the brand new first issues that we shall be seeing in this month of July 2014. While there are not a whole lot of brand new title releases with this particular month it’s okay because there are plenty of continuing series to enjoy and you can see them on the shelves of your neighborhood comics shop when you drop in. Longer termed followers of this particular category know that I’ve been snipping the descriptions of the titles from the Official Wikipedia entries since that let’s us get a quick premise of the new title and an idea of who the creative team will be on the title. It’s much easier for this particular solicitation purposes but don’t worry I will be offering up my sage comics wisdom after its all done. Here we go with the newest first issues from Marvel Comics.
