Tonight: “The Walking Dead” Season 9 on AMC (10/7/2018)

As you read this alert/post, I’m still deep in the Halls Of Javits at the 2018 NY Comic Con. It’s the final day of the event and while I am running on fumes at this point, there are still photos to take and cosplayers to add to our Official Instagram. I’m here to remind you that tonight will begin the 9th season of the AMC networks blockbuster hit of a show “The Walking Dead”. The other day the network shared the first five minutes of the broadcast and I’m adding that down below since I could not address it at the time. Let’s watch.

Tonight: “Robert Kirkman’s Secret History Of Comics” On AMC (11/12/2017)

While I am sure that you know is name from his being the creator of “The Walking Dead”, it seems as though Robert Kirkman is a bit of a comic book historian as well and thanks to the folks at AMC, is delivering a mini-series called “Robert Kirkman’s Secret History Of Comics”. It airs tonight at 11PM EST (which means its post “The Walking Dead”, “Talking Dead” and “Comic Book Men”) but check your local listings unless you are programming it. Take a look at the premise and poster and then I’ll return with some closing editorial.

About The Show: “The Walking Dead” comic book creator Robert Kirkman stars in this documentary series that takes a deeper look into the stories, people and events that have transformed the world of comic books. It also features interviews with icons such as Stan Lee, Patty Jenkins, Lynda Carter, Kevin Smith, Famke Janssen, J.K. Simmons, Michelle Rodriguez, and Todd McFarlane, among many others.

1. The Mighty Misfits Who Made Marvel
2. The Truth About Wonder Woman
3. The Trials Of Superman
4. City Of Heroes
5. The Color Of Comics
6. Image Comics: Declaration Of Independents

PiercingMetal Thoughts: We long been showcasing our appreciation of the comic book medium here on the website, so any documentary series that gives us a look into a few assorted topics is right up on my radar of things to watch. There are only six episodes in full so you should be able to easily program your DVR or VCR (if such things still even exist) and watch at your leisure. I am also going to venture to guess that the AMC website will permit you to watch episodes online and then there is that On Demand stuff that is the talk of the town. As the episodes air, I will list their names up above for easier reference. I find it better to watch such a feature in sequential order just like a comic book series. The trailers for this in terms of the commercials and stuff I’ve read online make this look really interesting. What do you think? Will you be giving it a chance? Six hours isn’t a lot of time to devote nowadays. You can even binge it 🙂 Let me know what you think down in the comments section below.

Here’s “The Walking Dead” Season 8 Official Comic-Con Trailer

I guess its safe to assume that a season trailer that attendees of the Comic Con International: San Diego are always looking forward to is the one for “The Walking Dead”. The show is beyond mega-popular at this point and is the source of a lot of peoples frustrations with Facebook since the spoiler folks love to say that something happened on their feed the second after it happens. I view that as a d–k move for sure but have learned to stay off the social network until I get to watch it since I was running out of people to unfriend after ruining it for me. With that said here is the recently revealed Season “8” trailer. Enjoy.

About The Show: After “7” seasons I am not really sure that I need to cite what the show is about but if you have just arrived to our planet or are waking from a lengthy coma as our principle character Rick Grimes did some years ago now, “The Walking Dead” is about life in a world besieged by the dead. Sadly, sometimes the zombies are not the worst thing that our survivors have to deal with and there you go.
