Back in July we helped broadcast the news about the rescheduling of the “50 Heavy Metal Years” Tour by the legendary Judas Priest (seen HERE). Sadly, based on the world being in the state that it currently is, the band has released the statement about 2021 being a wash for their UK Dates with Ozzy Osbourne and that they hope to return to active Metal duty in 2022. Read on to their statement and check your calendars for the dates you might have been planning on doing since you’ll need to get a refund if you are in that neck of the woods.
The last time we did an update for the legendary Judas Priest was to share that their proposed show at the Nassau Coliseum would not be happening based on the arena closing its doors. Sadly I am back with more sad news from the band as the entire run has been scrapped for 2020 and many of the dates will happen in 2021. Read on from the bands Official Facebook down below.
Though they’ve always been a highlight of my interest in Heavy Metal music, its safe to say that Judas Priest has been on a ride that finds new fans discovering them and offering up additional momentum that keeps them as one of the top of the legendary acts that the genre has delivered us. The news about an upcoming tour with Nuclear Blast’s Sabaton supporting is just fantastical. Check it out down below along with all the dates.
The Press Release:
One of heavy metal’s all-time greats, Judas Priest will be celebrating their 50th anniversary this year with a world tour coming to the US in the fall. The 50 Heavy Metal Years Tour will also feature Sabaton as openers and is being fueled by the highest charting album of Priest’s career ‘Firepower’ which peaked at #5 on the Billboard 200.
There aren’t many people that will argue with the statement that “Mondays Suck” but when the day includes the news about a Judas Priest tour they are so much more tolerable. We’ve been fans of the legendary band for a long time here at the PiercingMetal Media Command HQ and caught the first go round of their “Firepower Tour” (see that report HERE). Now let’s look at the scoop about their 2019 North American return.
The Press Release:
With Judas Priest’s latest studio album, Firepower, confirmed as one of the most successful of the band’s entire career – landing in the “top 5” of 17 countries (including their highest chart placement ever in the U.S., at #5) – demand to see the legendary metal band in concert is higher than ever.
And North American headbangers will get their chance to experience the legendary band on a nearby concert stage this coming spring/summer, when Priest will tour throughout the continent – with the classic metal band Uriah Heep as support.
Kicking off on May 3rd at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida and wrapping up on June 29th at The Joint at Hard Rock Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada, fans will get an opportunity to catch Priest at the height of their concert powers on any one of the tour’s 32 dates.
