We were just finishing with the annual NY Comic Con when we last discussed the upcoming film “Mortal Engines”. Back then it was to showcase the Official 2nd Trailer which you’ll want to examine HERE before continuing along. The film opens today in theaters everywhere and comes care of Universal Pictures and the mind of Peter Jackson (you might remember him from “King Kong”, “Lord Of The Rings” and “The Hobbit” films). Take a look at the Official Theatrical poster, the premise and casting. I’ll close out with additional editorial as I usually do.

The Premise: Tom is a twenty-something Londoner who has only ever lived inside his travelling hometown, and his feet have never touched grass, mud or land. His first taste of the outside comes quite abruptly: Tom gets in the way of the masked Hester’s attempt to kill Thaddeus Valentine, a powerful man she blames for her mother’s murder, and both Hester and Tom end up thrown out of the moving “traction” city, to fend for themselves. Though we’re still dealing with the chaos that is New York Comic Con, there are other things to call to your attention while that is being addressed and one item to enjoy is the second Official Trailer for the upcoming film “Mortal Engines”. This Peter Jackson film is based on the book with the same name so let’s take a look.

You probably remember the name of Peter Jackson as the man who made “Lord Of The Rings” and “The Hobbit” come to life on the big screen. This coming December he will take us to a world where cities roam the planet in a quest of domination and survival. The film is called “Mortal Engines” and the first official trailer premiered just the other day. Let’s take a look.

Opening Today: “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug” (12/2/2013)

Poster - The Hobbit - The Desolation of Smaug - 2013

Hey there my friends and traveler’s to the fantasy world of Middle Earth, today is the day that the second chapter of “The Hobbit Trilogy” opens up in theaters everywhere. As with the first chapter “An Unexpected Journey” the film was produced and directed by Peter Jackson, the man behind the incredibly successful “Lord Of The Rings” trilogy. I loved those films and happily added them to my collection when they became available. Now you might remember that I had some reservations about the single book story being expanded into three films but oh well. Believe it or not I have not yet seen the first chapter and by the looks of it, I think I will be waiting for all three to be out so I can binge on them like I do with any number of series on Netflix. Are you excited about the story so far? How fast will you see it? I welcome all comments but please don’t put any spoilers in for those who hate that stuff.

Opening Today: “The Hobbit: A Unexpected Journey” (12/14/2012)

Poster - The Hobbit - An Unexpected Journey - 2012

Back in 2001, director Peter Jackson adapted and assembled the epic adventure by J.R.R. Tolkien called “The Lord Of The Rings”. This was a massive three book tale and lucky for all its fans, each book would get its own film and flow seemlessly into each other since many parts were shot at the very beginning. Years after the celebrated films had run their course the world wondered if Jackson would approach the story that began the whole thing in 1937 “The Hobbit” and lucky for us – he did. Of course this story would also be broken up into three chapters and while I am not too keen on that (since it was only one book in the first place) I will sit back and let Mr. Jackson entertain me. That being said, this film opens up today and here is a rundown of the cast. Will you be seeing this film? I know that I plan to as soon as possible and I ask should any of you early viewers do so, that you please do not post spoilers. Yes I read the book but still, you know what I mean.
