Here’s the full rundown of dates that will be performed by the legendary Ozzy Osbourne as he maps out where his own “No More Tours 2” Farewell Tour will be stopping. Check out the full press release that was received only a little while ago.
The Press Release:
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy®-winning singer and songwriter OZZY OSBOURNE earlier today (February 6) revealed details about his forthcoming “NO MORE TOURS 2,” a reference to his 1992 “No More Tours” trek. The announcement by the legendary musical icon about the North American dates–with his longtime collaborators Zakk Wylde (Guitar), Blasko (Bass), Tommy Clufetos (Drums) and Adam Wakeman (Keyboards)—was made to international media in attendance at his Los Angeles home.
The initial North American dates produced by Live Nation kick off August 30 in Allentown, PA and conclude October 13 in Las Vegas, NV with a Thursday, October 11 stop at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles; OZZY will be joined by Stone Sour for this leg of the tour. Tickets for these shows go on sale to the general public starting Saturday, February 17 at 10:00 AM (local time) at LiveNation.com and through the Live Nation app. Citi® is the official presale credit card of the tour. Well it seems as though the Metal world will have to come to terms with the eventual retirement of one of its most legendary figures as the great Ozzy Osbourne has recently announced his for real this time “Farewell Tour”. I say it like that since Ozzy has had a couple of these go rounds already but no one is complaining here. As readers and the rest of the Metal world knows, Black Sabbath closed the book on its career earlier in the year and that final show can be enjoyed on a video release called “The End” which will come out in a couple of weeks. As soon as I get that I will toss a review together. Please stay tuned and now let’s get into the full press release about the final tour.
The Press Release:
Five decades. 18,262 days. More than 2,500 shows.
On his upcoming farewell world tour, OZZY OSBOURNE–Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy® winning singer and songwriter–will celebrate more than five decades as a performer (both as a solo artist and as lead singer of Black Sabbath which formed in 1968). This tour, expected to take OZZY around the world with dates into 2020, will mark the end of global touring for the legendary artist, though he will continue to perform select live shows.
“People keep asking me when I’m retiring,” OZZY says. “This will be my final world tour, but I can’t say I won’t do some shows here and there.”
According to the legendary singers Official Facebook Page and of course his own primary website there is some big news as he and longtime former guitarist Zakk Wylde have reunited for several summer tour dates. The statement is below so check it out.
The Press Statement:
Rock fans rejoice! For the first time in more than a decade, OZZY OSBOURNE and Zakk Wylde are together again. Known as one of rock’s most lethal singer and guitarist pairings, the two will hit the road for a series of OZZY headlining shows in the U.S. this summer and fall, beginning July 14 (*see dates below). While they’ve performed together over the years, these shows are the first collaboration for the duo for a full tour since 2006. These dates also mark OZZY’s first solo tour in the U.S. in years beyond one OZZY & Friends performance at the Voodoo Music + Arts Experience in New Orleans, LA in October 2015.
Fans of the legendary Ozzy Osbourne and his reality television antics might enjoy this new show that airs tonight on the History Channel. It pairs him up with his son Jack and together they go on some interesting adventures. I figured I would take a little break from all of the trailers I have been posting to let you know about it. Check out the poster and the very brief premise that the shows Wiki had.
Ozzy & Jack’s World Detour is an American comedy reality television series starring Ozzy Osbourne and his son Jack Osbourne. During each episode, Ozzy and Jack visit one or more sites to learn about their history from experts and explore unusual or quirky aspects of their background. (thanks Wiki)
PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’ll admit that I enjoyed the first couple of seasons of “The Osbournes” but who doesn’t love everything Ozzy in the first place. I leaned more towards the A&E Network “Gene Simmons Family Jewels” as a KISS fan but not too much on the football show that got cancelled anyway. With nothing else featuring Rock celebrity on the television at the moment perhaps this show might be more interesting than the scripted lifestyle show because this one is going to be visiting a lot of historical spaces. This is something that I also like doing for posts on my PiercingKen.com blog (pardon the shameless plug but its true). The commercials for the show look like fun so I will be setting the DVR to program it and then I can binge watch. What do you readers think of this idea for a show? Will you be watching the adventures of Ozzy and Jack? Let me know what you think in the comments section.
Artist: Ozzy Osbourne Title: “Diary Of A Madman” (blasphemy edition) Label: Epic Records Release Date: 4/2/2002 Genre: Heavy Metal Rating: 1/5
I mentioned in my overview for the “remaster” of Ozzy Osbourne’s classic “Blizzard Of Ozz” how based on litigation with Bob Daisley and Lee Kerslake that the management of the Osbourne side had delivered the remaster of the classic recording with the bass and drums done by Rob Trujillo and Mike Bordin in their place. Unfathomable right? Well it happened and since these two musicians were also on the sophomore album of “Diary Of A Madman” the same process was done to this release. Why not hit the Metal fans with an additional dose of horrendous lightning. The end result takes an otherwise exciting piece of music and makes a mockery of it all by doing this and the reason for my review being amped up with vitriol and venom is purely to let the world know that this is not okay to do no matter what the rationale is. Ozzy would have been better served at re-recording the whole piece as a new release with his band at the time but such things were not done as often as they were today.
