It was just about a week ago that we shared the news about Ozzy’s European “No More Tours 2” being postponed due to illness (seen HERE in the event that you missed it). Sadly, Metal’s Prince Of Darkness is still fighting a nasty bug….
Yesterday, Sharon Osbourne alerted all of Ozzy’s Legions about his being admitted to the hospital based on complications from the flu. Speaking frankly, its better that he is under a doctors observation because this years strain of flu has been nasty and stays with you. It seems that everyone I talk to has gotten a bit of it and even I did back in January despite getting the yearly shot. Ugh. No fun.
As some of you may have heard, Ozzy was admitted to hospital following some complications from the flu. His doctors feel this is the best way to get him on a quicker road to recovery. Thanks to everyone for their concern and love.
PiercingMetal Thoughts: In addition to saying “Get Well Soon Ozzy”, I want to stress that all of you be careful out there and especially those of you who are always in big crowds. It doesn’t hurt to carry a small bottle of Purell with you and a packet of Kleenex tissues. During cold and flu season I’d eliminate hand shaking in full and move to fist bumps. Wash your hands often and cover your mouth when you cough to prevent ruining someone else’s day. Sorry for being preachy but I am on the trains every single day and night and sometimes the behavior of other passengers makes me want to run for the hills but I can’t since I am trapped in the car. Once again I say “Get Well Soon Ozzy” and you people be careful as well.
Moments ago we received word that the legendary Ozzy Osbourne had cancelled his UK and European tour based on illness. It was reported earlier in the week that a few days were shelved but now the whole thing is off as Ozzy must get some proper rest per the doctor. Read on the full press release.
The Press Release:
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy®-winning singer and songwriter OZZY OSBOURNE has been forced to postpone the entire UK and European leg of his “NO MORE TOURS 2” tour on doctors’ orders. This follows yesterday’s (January 28) announcement that OSBOURNE was postponing the first four dates of the tour because of the flu. After seeing his physician again, OSBOURNE has been diagnosed with a severe upper-respiratory infection which the doctor feels could develop into pneumonia given the physicality of the live performances and an extensive travel schedule throughout Europe in harsh winter conditions.
Statement from Ozzy:
“I’m completely devastated for having to postpone the European leg of my tour. It just seems that since October everything I touch has turned to shit. First the staph infection in my thumb and now coming down with the flu and bronchitis. I want to apologize to all of my fans who have been so loyal over the years, my band, my crew and to Judas Priest for letting you all down. However, I promise the tour with Judas Priest will be completed. It’s being rescheduled right now to start in September. Again, I apologize to everyone. God Bless. Love you all, Ozzy.”

The Press Release:
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee and Grammy®-winning singer and songwriter OZZY OSBOURNE has now cancelled the remaining four shows on his North American “NO MORE TOURS 2.” Following additional evaluation from his doctors, OSBOURNE will likely require another surgery in the coming days to treat multiple infections in his right hand.
The four cancelled shows were originally scheduled as follows: Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA (October 6), Mattress Firm Amphitheatre in Chula Vista (October 9), the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles (October 11) and MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas (October 13). The three California shows had previously been rescheduled following his initial prognosis from doctors. All four shows will be rescheduled for 2019.
“I’m so fu**ing bummed about cancelling these shows,” OSBOURNE says. “The tour had been going great and we were really looking forward to these last few gigs. We’re hoping everyone will be patient and we’ll look forward to seeing them at the shows next year.”
Ticketholders for the four shows should hold on to their tickets, as they will be honored for the rescheduled dates. Refunds are also available at point of purchase.
