This Just In: Bassist/Vocalist Marko Hietala Exits Nightwish

Dear people. I am leaving Nightwish and my public life.

For a quite a few years now I haven’t been able to feel validated by this life. We have streaming company big guns demanding 9/5 work from artists of inspiration while unfairly sharing the profits. Even among the artists. We’re the banana republic of the music industry. Biggest tour promoters squeeze percentages even from our own merchandise while paying dividends to Middle East. Apparently some theocrasies can take the money from the music that would get you beheaded or jailed there without appearing as hypocrites. Just a couple of examples here.

Finland’s own Symphonic wonder Nightwish have just announced a pair of special livestream events for next March. As you know these kinds of things aren’t new news anymore but we are finding bigger and bigger bands making this jump because touring just isn’t possible right now. We recently learned that KISS was going to do one (discussed HERE) and also the magnificent Trans-Siberian Orchestra as well (discussed HERE and happening tomorrow evening). Now let’s examine the bands announcement from their social networking.

Please refer to the bands socials and event calendars such as this in the weeks to come for the very latest event listings and updates to them.

Finland’s own Nightwish returns to NYC as a part of a brief North American tour. This will be the bands first-ever performance at this venue. You are not going to want to miss their return.
