Now that Spring is considering making an appearance, although you can’t really believe that since the temperature in our own Metal Media Metropolis has dropped considerably. That being said the summer tours are manifesting in rapid succession and here is the latest scoop from the Neurosis camp. Let’s take a look.

Having just returned from their tour of Japan with Converge, visionary heavy music icons NEUROSIS have announced a new North American tour for this summer, with Bell Witch and Deafkids also on the bill.
NEUROSIS’ previously-announced tour of Europe runs from July 11th through 27th with support from Yob. NEUROSIS also plays a special one-off London performance with Godflesh on July 20th.
Upon their stateside return, NEUROSIS will now head back out to the Eastern US and Southeastern Canada for a run of performances in August. The new dates, confirmed to run from August 7th through August 17th, will see the band performing in Atlanta, Carrboro, Washington, Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Boston, Montreal, Toronto, Detroit, and Chicago. On this tour, direct support will be provided by Seattle doom metal outfit Bell Witch. Opening support will be deployed by Brazilian avant/noise/industrial trio Deafkids, who NEUROSIS signed to their own Neurot Recordings. This tour marks Deafkids’ first time on North American soil. Neurosis’ founding guitarist/vocalist SCOTT KELLY has confirmed a new set of tour dates beginning later this month, where the artist will take his acoustic solo anthems to the Southeastern US.
While Neurosis continues to tour in support of their lauded eleventh studio album, Fires Within Fires, SCOTT KELLY also continues to perform in a variety of other forms, including Mirrors For Psychic Warfare with Sanford Parker who just returned from an intense tour of Europe, Absent In Body with Colin H Van Eeckhout and Mathieu Vandekerckhove of Amenra who just released a record through Hypertension, and others, in addition to his own solo projects and recordings. This just blasted by my Facebook Feed and that was nice to see that the Rock was steadily moving by as opposed to asinine meme after meme for a change. The latest tour stuffs to share is this just under three week jaunt by Neurosis who will be hitting the road with support from Brothers Of The Sonic Cloth and The Body. In less than three weeks, NEUROSIS will embark on the band’s most widespread North American tour since before the turn of the millennium. On the eve of their thirtieth anniversary, the forceful aural surge of NEUROSIS will be felt with a deluge of performances set to take place in sixteen cities across America and Canada this Summer. The genre-creating quintet will punish the continent with one of their most crushing live sets to date, beginning on July 31st in Lawrence, Kansas, followed by shows in Minneapolis, Madison, Chicago, Louisville, Detroit, Toronto, Montréal, Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Richmond, Carrboro, Atlanta and New Orleans, before coming to a smoldering finale in Houston on August 16th, invading cities and states which they have not visited since the ‘90s along the way.
