Analyze Netflix’s “Stranger Things” Season 2 SDCC “Thriller” Trailer

I’m cooking with gasoline my fiends as I continue dishing out the wealth of both television and streaming services trailers for the upcoming super hero and Science Fiction hotness along with those big screen epics that we love so much. Yes I realize that I could have only done one or two posts and placed a few trailers in each but I love sharing the premise as a reminder and the casting so we can make it a more focused discussion point and have the comments matter most to the topic should any come in. Next on the media docket we have the second season trailer for Netflix’s “Stranger Things”. It made an appearance at the Comic Con International: San Diego or “SDCC” several days ago and I’ve been parsing these out as I’ve already noted. Let’s take a look down below and of course there is the premise and casting for you to absorb.

Netflix Presents: Marvel’s “The Defenders” (Official Trailer 2)

As most fans of the comic and movie media stuff we post about know, the Comic Con International: San Diego of “SDCC” is underway and will be winding down today with its fourth and final day. This convention always brings the trailers and sneak-peaks into the upcoming Fall television shows and motion pictures and as you know there is a lot coming out this year. A few months ago we shared the first trailer for the next Netflix installment of their Marvel series “The Defenders” and this is a mini-series that unites the stars of the previous shows Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist. These are the Marvel Comics “Street Level” heroes and here is the second trailer for the upcoming series. Check it out.

The Premise: Set a few months after the events of the second season of Daredevil, and a month after the events of Iron Fist, the vigilantes Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist team up in New York City to fight a common enemy in The Hand. (thanks Wiki).

Stan Lee makes a cameo appearance through an on-set photograph

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I pretty much raved about the first trailer and this just excites me all the more. I really enjoyed the other shows and hope that this keeps on coming. Most of us were skeptical at the beginning and here we are now chomping at the bit for the next go at these characters. Sure I wasn’t crazy about this being called “The Defenders” since I grew up on a different team but this dynamic sure seems to work. The question remains is will we find any of these folks in the 2018 major motion picture “Avengers: Infinity War”. Part of me says “no” because they are NOT Avengers at all but neither are the Guardians Of The Galaxy, Doctor Strange and Spider-Man and they are all in there. Only time will tell for that. “The Defenders” will consist of eight total episodes and will be available for streaming in full on August 18, 2017. Netflix Presents: “Bright” Official Trailer

Now this sounds like something our readers would find of interest. There is a film coming to Netflix in December called “Bright” and urban fantasy crime film that is directed by David Ayer and written by Max Landis. The first trailer was recently released and since we love sharing that sort of thing if the film is on topic, here we go.

The Premise: In an alternate present where humans and fantasy creatures—Orcs, Fairies, Elves, Centaurs, etc.—have co-existed since the beginning of time, human LAPD officer Daryl Ward (Will Smith) and Orc Deputy Nick Jakoby (Joel Edgerton) embark on a routine patrol night, only to discover an ancient—but powerful—artifact: a magic wand, that was thought to be destroyed, and encounter a darkness that will ultimately alter the future and their world as they know it. (thanks Wiki).

The Cast/Characters:
Will Smith as Daryl Ward, a seasoned human cop
Joel Edgerton as Nick Jakoby, the first Orc cop
Noomi Rapace as Leilah, a dark elf
Lucy Fry as Tikka, a young elf
Édgar Ramírez as Kandomere, an elf
Ike Barinholtz as Gary Harmeyer, a human cop
Happy Anderson as Montehugh, a human
Kenneth Choi as Agent Coleman
Margaret Cho
Andrea Navedo as Captain Perez, a human cop
Brad William Henke as Dorghu, the leader of the Fogteeth Orcs gang.
Dawn Olivieri as Sherri Ward
Brandon Larracuente as Mike
Cle Shaheed Sloan as OG Mike
Alex Meraz as Serafin
Matt Gerald as Hicks, a human cop
Enrique Murciano
Jay Hernandez
Veronica Ngo as Tien

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I have to say that this didn’t look bad at all and reminded me a little bit of Smith’s “Bad Boys” along with the “Hellboy” film. I’ve been loving the geek stuff that Netflix has been offering up in terms of the Marvel shows and this looks like it might keep fans interested for however long it is. As its not a series I imagine it will be easy enough to sit through. What do you readers think about this one? Will you give it a chance? Let me know down in the comments section below.

Netflix Presents: Marvel’s “The Defenders” (Official Trailer)

If you’ve been keeping up with the Netflix Original Series based on the Marvel “street-level” superheroes such as Daredevil, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones and Iron Fist, you already know that they were heading in the direction of a combined team-up show called “The Defenders” and now that “Iron Fist” has been binged watched by all the fans, the time has come to prepare for this union and the first official trailer was released only a few short hours ago.

Cast and Characters (Main and Guest):

PiercingMetal Thoughts: Since I’ve really enjoyed all of the Netflix offerings to date I have to say that I am looking forward to this teaming up of all four of them. Now this is even with my initial hesitation about their using the name “The Defenders” since I grew up on the team that consisted of Dr. Strange, The Incredible Hulk, Silver Surfer and The Sub-Mariner. Oddly enough two of those heroes are not even in the Marvel Cinematic Universe of properties but I think I might have preferred their going with “Heroes For Hire” more than anything else. Based on this trailer, the mini-series seems to have everyone that was a side character in it as well which is awesome. “The Defenders” will consist of eight total episodes and will be available for streaming in full on August 18, 2017.
