With the film opening up in just about a week, I was very surprised to find them waiting to release the Final Trailer at this time. Usually we have a few weeks of lead in to absorb it and find the clip making the rounds on television and on websites such as this one but here we are. If you’ve been under a rock for the last few months, “Bohemian Rhapsody” is a film about the Rock Legends Queen and the late, great Freddie Mercury. I’m following the clip with the premise and casting for good measure and I’ll toss some closing thoughts in as well. Let’s take a look.
Synopsis: Described as a foot-stomping celebration of Queen, their music and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury, who defied stereotypes and shattered convention to become one of the most beloved entertainers on the planet. The film traces the meteoric rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound, their near-implosion as Mercury’s lifestyle spirals out of control, and their triumphant reunion on the eve of Live Aid, where Mercury, facing a life-threatening illness, leads the band in one of the greatest performances in the history of rock music. Back around the time of the Comic Con International: San Diego, we shared the first trailer for the upcoming DC Universe streaming service program “Titans” and I hope that you managed to see it since it was pretty exciting. If you missed the post, no worries since you can just click THIS LINK to check it out before I continue along. During last weeks New York Comic Con, over at the DC Comics pavilion, the rallying for their new streaming service of “DC Universe” was in high gear. The folks who attended the convention could get a special edition “Titans” comic for free and if they showed one of the reps their account they got a goodie bag that included a special Robin pin. Today, this service is officially live and the debut series “Titans” first episode is available for streaming. Take a look at the dramatic poster below along with some casting. I’ll close out with additional editorial views soon after.
Though we’re still dealing with the chaos that is New York Comic Con, there are other things to call to your attention while that is being addressed and one item to enjoy is the second Official Trailer for the upcoming film “Mortal Engines”. This Peter Jackson film is based on the book with the same name so let’s take a look.
The Premise: Tom is a twenty-something Londoner who has only ever lived inside his travelling hometown, and his feet have never touched grass, mud or land. His first taste of the outside comes quite abruptly: Tom gets in the way of the masked Hester’s attempt to kill Thaddeus Valentine, a powerful man she blames for her mother’s murder, and both Hester and Tom end up thrown out of the moving “traction” city, to fend for themselves.
