I don’t think that I need to extol the talents of the late, great Freddie Mercury and the music of the band Queen because that could go on in paragraph after paragraph after paragraph. So many of their songs have become timeless classics and now the bands story, or more importantly Freddie’s story will be told in a brand-new 20th Century Fox Film called “Bohemian Rhapsody”. A short time ago, the first teaser trailer from the film was released. Let’s take a look at that. You can also enjoy some premise, casting and editorial thoughts down below.
Synopsis: Described as a foot-stomping celebration of Queen, their music and their extraordinary lead singer Freddie Mercury, who defied stereotypes and shattered convention to become one of the most beloved entertainers on the planet. The film traces the meteoric rise of the band through their iconic songs and revolutionary sound, their near-implosion as Mercury’s lifestyle spirals out of control, and their triumphant reunion on the eve of Live Aid, where Mercury, facing a life-threatening illness, leads the band in one of the greatest performances in the history of rock music. In the process, cementing the legacy of a band that were always more like a family, and who continue to inspire outsiders, dreamers and music lovers to this day. The world might be getting amped up for “Avengers: Infinity War” which opens up this week and while this is pretty much the biggest news in the film releases about the super-hero stuff; Sony Pictures is going to be expanding the world of the Amazing Spider-Man with a number of films of their own. Back in February we got a teaser trailer for the “Venom” film which stars Tom Hardy but it didn’t show much of anything and it was only a short time ago that the first full Official Trailer was released. Check it out.
Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock/Venom
Michelle Williams as Ann Weying
Riz Ahmed as Carlton Drake
PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’ve noted before that I am not too sure how I feel about a Venom character without the Amazing Spider-Man involved at any point and as you can see by this longer traler, Sony has really taken some liberties with his origin story. It looks like it will be exciting but I think we are going to get more tendril scenes and explosions than The Big Guy as was disclosed by some notable Vloggers recently. Though I’m willing to give it a shot, I am more content and satisfied with the Marvel Cinematic Universe since they have done so well for the past ten years. What do you readers think about this trailer? Chime in down below in the comments. Oh yeah and before I go, please be sure to gaze on the newly released poster. It follows the teaser one that I shared once more in this post.
The big screen is going to blow up big time thanks to the the upcoming “Deadpool 2” film which brings the misadventures of the Merc with a Mouth to life once more and since this film is around the corner in terms of opening, a Final Trailer has been released. Check it out below.
Per The YouTube Video Page: After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.
PiercingMetal Thoughts: As previously noted in our earlier trailer posts, the film is NOT about what it says above. This trailer seems to give away too much and I don’t know why they choose to do this. Maybe some films need it done, like “Fantastic Four” (which was terrible) and “Justice League” (which was “meh”) and “Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice” (which was a massive disappointment) but based on the box office numbers of the first film, its safe to say that “Deadpool 2” will not need any help. I like what I saw here and think Cable is going to be a solid character to have in the X-Men universe of films along with the other members of X-Force. You know that they will get a film of their own eventually too. That’s all I am going to say here because I am getting ready to attend a couple of Metal shows and then one of the days of the NYC Hot Sauce Expo and in addition to that, the “Avengers: Infinity War” film is opening up next week and I am STOKED for that one. What did you think of the trailer? Chime in down below as usual.
Thanks to the overall massive amount of superhero themed movies and the other stuff that falls into the interests of most of our readership, I am happy to keep on sharing the trailers for stuff and talking a little about them. I guess it was about a month ago when I posted the teaser trailer for “Incredibles 2” that only focused on Jack Jack (or maybe it was far longer ago) but now we have the first full-on trailer for the film. Let’s watch.
The Plot: Incredibles 2 resumes where The Incredibles ends, with the introduction of the villain The Underminer. The Parr family struggles to maintain normal lives while Helen, as Elastigirl, continues to fight crime and campaign for the return of “supers”; while Bob, also known as Mr. Incredible, stays at home caring for their children Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack, discovering the baby’s secret powers in the process. Also, the Parrs and their ally Frozone find they must battle a new villain, who goes by the name of Screenslaver. Continue reading Disney/Pixar Presents: “Incredibles 2” Official Trailer→
In 2018, we will all have another reason to be afraid to go into the water thanks to “The Meg” which is short for “Megalodon” which means giant frigging Great White Shark. I’ve had interest in reading the novel that this film is based on and the first trailer for the upcoming Warner Brother Pictures release is presented below for your perusal.
The Premise: After escaping an attack by what he claims was by a 70-foot shark, Jonas Taylor must confront his fears to save those trapped in a sunken submersible (c/o IMDB).
Jason Statham as Jonas Taylor
Li Bingbing as Suyin Zhang
Rainn Wilson as Jack Morris
Ruby Rose as Jaxx Herd
Winston Chao as Dr. Minway Zhang
Cliff Curtis as James “Mac” Mackreides
Page Kennedy as DJ
Jessica McNamee as Celeste
Olafur Darri Olafsson as The Wall
Robert Taylor as Dr. Heller
Shuya Sophia Cai as Meiying
Masi Oka as Toshi
Rob Kipa-Williams as D’Angelo
Tawanda Manyimo as Marks
PiercingMetal Thoughts: I loved this trailer and felt that it brings back some of the monster shark craze that hit when “Jaws” was release so many years ago. I read that book long before I saw it in the movies and even the book had me off water for awhile. Of course this fear didn’t apply to the bathtub despite my youthful insistence and parents, I fear we might find this sort of behavior resurfacing thanks to “The Meg”. Personally speaking, I love giant monster films and since Megalodon is an ancient predator he falls into that category when it comes to this film. I’m also a Jason Statham fan so look forward to seeing this one. What did you think of the trailer? Let me know down in the comments section below and to close out I’ve shared from teaser posters.
