The Press Release:
Originally released by the band in 1998, Sin/Pecado became the great divider of the Moonspell wolfpack. Produced by their long time companion (Waldemar Sorychta-Wolfheart, Irreligious), the songs of this “accursed” album were signs of a rebellion of the band against the sound that made them famous in the scene. Instead of wolves and vampires, Moonspell set the compass to songs filled with electronica and darkwave moods that talked about the European Community or the love for a woman. December 13rd2019 will see the band, in collaboration with Napalm Records and under the licence of Century Media, to re-release their pathbreaking Sin/Pecado album in a Deluxe Edition; serving a sinful cup to our lips and see if that red wine has aged better or tastes sweeter than more than twenty years ago!
“Moonspell’s biggest flaw or quality, judge for yourself, is never to be satisfied with anything. Frontman Ribeiro says.“There was true creative anguish burning inside us in 1997, after we were done with the endless Irreligious’ tours, that created the perfect (shit)storm that would be Sin. It was a strange year for us, Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride, were letting loose and seemed to be also under the same mood as we did, or vice-versa. It doesn’t matter. Metal was turning its wheel and we’re all on the falling side. We took the fall and enjoyed doing it anyway. It wasn’t Moses dividing the waters, but it did hurt sometimes to feel alone. Curiosly a lot of other people entered Sin’s mood a couple of years later and now they beg of us to play those songs live. If you’re reading this and need another taste at sin, let’s indulge each other and pick up that second skin from the late-nineties deep closet.” Continue reading Napalm Records to Reissue Moonspell’s “Sin/Pecado” & “2econd Skin” Albums→
Having missed Amorphis when they last visited our neck of the woods, I was happy to see this tour announcement that hit my mailbox in the wee hours of the morning. Let’s take a look at it.
The Press Release:
AMORPHIS announce N. American tour w/ DARK TRANQUILLITY, MOONSPELL and OMNIUM GATHERUM
Melancholic progressive metallers AMORPHIS will return to North America with a co-headlining trek with DARK TRANQUILLITY this September/October. Joining them are Portugal’s premiere gothic-metallic-force MOONSPELL, and Finnish melo-death contingent OMNIUM GATHERUM.
AMORPHIS will be touring in support of their soon to be announced new album, produced and mixed once again by Jens Bogren (OPETH, AMON AMARTH, KATATONIA). More details to be announced shortly, so stay tuned!
Guitarist Esa Holopainen commented: “We are extremely excited to start the world tour with new album from North America. There’s been lot of requests to hit the states again after our last tour spring 2017. This time we come over with a killer package. Touring with DARK TRANQUILLITY, MOONSPELL and OMNIUM GATHERUM is almost like having a road trip with best mates around. Every band has a strong fanbase so there will be something for everyone.” Continue reading Amorphis Announce North American Tour w/Dark Tranquillity, Moonspell & Omnium Gatherum→
Epica is finally back in the New York Groove so let’s show them a welcome that they will remember for years. They’ll be bringing along the mighty Moonspell and Starkill for an exciting show from beginning to end.
Now here is a little bit of touring news that I was hoping to see happen sooner than later. It seems that Epica will be returning to this neck of the woods in the beginning of 2016 to make up the dates that had to be dropped during their most recent Fall run. Check out the poster and the official statement and then we can discuss a little more.
