Metallica TV Presents: “Lords Of Summer” (Official Video)

Looks like you’ve made it safe and sound my friends because we have arrived at the final video clip from Metallica’s newest album “Hardwired To Self-Destruct” and wow what an undertaking this has been. I’’ll admit that when I started this groups of posts I debated whether or not to continually append a single post with each new video against a unique post for each and every video. I obviously decided on the latter and am glad that we’re done because I see the Metallica logo when I close my eyes at this point. The final clip is for the song “Lords Of Summer” and it was directed by Brett Murray. Take a look below.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: This clip is the perfect closing video since it shows the mighty Metallica in the environment that they know so well and that is the live concert stage. It’s here that we get a close-up look at the excitement that is to be found at one of their shows and how well they interact with each other and the assembled masses. It’s amazing that Metallica undertook such a video effort for their fans for this new body of work and they are to be applauded for giving us all something worthy to enjoy and watch again and again. I can only hope that we get all of these thirteen clips on a DVD or Blu-ray disc sooner than later. Thanks for sticking with me for all of these posts. Now, let’s start the countdown to the brand new album which happens at midnight. We only have a few more hours to go.

Metallica TV Presents: “Spit Out The Bone” (Official Video)

I’m closing in on the final clip my friends and if for some reason you are only just joining us now, please know that I have been posting every single video for the new Metallica album “Hardwired…To Self-Destruct” that comes out in a few short hours at the point of this writing. This is video #12 and is for the tune “Spit Out The Bone” and comes care of the director Phil Mucci with actors Mindy Kelly, Ian Mackay, Chris Jai Alex, Gene Freeman, Will Greenburg, John Nania, Sam Tan and our director as well. Visualize.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I loved this one as well since it was like a Science-Fiction movie not unlike what we see in the grim future world of properties like “The Terminator”. We don’t see the band at all in this one and instead find actors portraying members of a resistance of some kind against a dystopian technological overlord and watch how its mechanical minions lay waste to society as we know it. The resistance puts up a valiant battle and if you are wondering if they win out in the end or not I will suggest that you sit back with some popcorn and watch the clip play out. Nice work on this one and a rapid fire track as well. Let me know what you think of this one and I will return with the final one shortly.

It’s time for us to turn it up to “11” thanks to Metallica who have released a video for every single one of their songs on the closer than ever to release “Hardwired…To Self-Destruct” album. There are “13” in full and yeah we are up to the eleventh hour one at this point. I’ve been making sure to speak to every clip for good measure and this one is thanks to the talents of Robert Valley. Dig in.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I loved this one from beginning to end because it was a homage to the late great Lemmy Kilmister of the mighty Motorhead. It’s an animated clip as well but seemed to use real photographs that were reworked to fit the visual narrative. We watch Lemmy from his beginnings as a roadie to Hendrix to joining Hawkwind onto forming the powerful Motorhead. The clip is loaded with Lemmy visual references such as Jack Daniels whiskey, his smokes, the Iron Cross and even his favorite video poker machine. Be sure to watch this one a couple of times so you catch everything. It’s a clip that has a lot of quick Easter Eggs as they call them and you risk missing out should you blink. Well done and we are closing in on the final videos. Let me know what you thought of this one and see you again soon.

Metallica TV Presents: “Halo On Fire” (Official Video)

Hey there and we are back to the remaining videos from Metallica from their now hours away from arriving “Hardwired…To Self-Destruct” album. This is the 10th overall video clip done for the new release and the 7th that was unveiled over these last two days. It comes care of the creative minds of Herring and Herring. Take a look.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: The visual narrative of this one is pretty cool and the song a slow and VERY long one that clocks in past the eight-minute mark. The band setting is a big open space loaded with people who encircle them and it at first reminded me of the Nirvana video “Smells Like Teen Spirit” only without the various costumes and characters. Here we just have an ample crowd and Metallica who are all smiles during the tune as they are clearly having a lot of fun. The story inside the clip follows a young woman getting ready for her day which seems to end in a sort of Fight Club. So we get lots of fighting action while the crowd goes crazy. It ends as it begins which I am feeling amounts to her living this type of life as a routine day in and day out. Interesting stuff. Let me know what you thought of this one and I will see you with another clip ASAP.

Number nine, number nine, number nine. Sorry my friends, that’s a Beatles reference but I felt it appropriate since I am up to the 9th overall video from the upcoming Metallica album “Hardwired…To Self-Destruct”. The album comes out tomorrow and I am continuing in the presentation of all of the videos that they released for it. With this clip, we are finishing up with the ones that were shared across various news sites yesterday. I’ll be pausing to fit in some other content after this one and then coming back with the rest. This clip is also the creative work of Herring and Herring.

PiercingMetal Thoughts: During this one, we see a man going through various aspects of his daily routine. He works, he plays, he spends time with family and he gambles a bit too. We only ever see the man himself as all of the other members in his little world are wearing white covering and masks. To the viewing audience they are without identity but you know their role based on where we see the man. It was interesting to watch and made me think of the character Slender Man. I know it wasn’t supposed to but that is how it hit me. Interesting stuff and I still have four more to share with you. Let me know what you think of this one when you get a moment.
