The Press Release:
Pearl Jam will release their much-anticipated eleventh studio album, Gigaton, on Monkeywrench Records/Republic Records on March 27, 2020 in the US. Internationally, the album will be released and distributed by Universal Music Group. Produced by Josh Evans and Pearl Jam, Gigaton marks the band’s first studio album since GRAMMY award-winning Lightning Bolt.
Gigaton is available for pre-order now at www.pearljam.com. The first single, “Dance of the Clairvoyants”, will be released in the coming weeks.
“Making this record was a long journey,” explains Mike McCready. “It was emotionally dark and confusing at times, but also an exciting and experimental road map to musical redemption. Collaborating with my bandmates on Gigaton ultimately gave me greater love, awareness and knowledge of the need for human connection in these times.” Continue reading Pearl Jam Announces New Album “Gigaton” & Spring Tour→

PiercingMetal Thoughts: I’ve been listening to Pearl Jam since the very beginning and was the first of my own circle to even know about them thanks to my assisting a popular local radio program when the bands debut album was being introduced to stations such as his. Heck, I even had a strong background in Mother Love Bone where some members hailed. It was a different time in music for sure as a new genre was stepping in and moving other forms of sound aside. That being said, I still never managed to catch Pearl Jam in concert much less cover them as a media person for this here website. I think it would be fun to do that so let’s cross our fingers and see if they announce a US run when the new year arrives. As I close this I wonder how many of you are planning some festival visits based on this news. You can chime in down below in the comments because I’d love to hear from you. See you next time.
So I am travelling at the time and the email hits my mobile device with the words “Temple Of The Dog members reunite for first-time ever tour” and I thought that I had been the victim of an elaborate email hoax. A couple of quick zaps around the web to contacts found me smiling at this nothing less than historic news about a fantastic band that no one really ever got the chance to see in the live sense. It’s also the time to reflect upon their self-titled excellence on its 25th Anniversary. Check out the official press copy below the image and the dates. I will be back as well.
TEMPLE OF THE DOG – FEATURING CHRIS CORNELL, STONE GOSSARD, JEFF AMENT, MIKE MCCREADY, AND MATT CAMERON – REUNITE TO TOUR FOR FIRST-TIME EVER – SPECIAL 25TH ANNIVERSARY REISSUE COLLECTION TO BE RELEASED BY UME ON SEPTEMBER 30TH
The Press Release:
Temple of the Dog – the Seattle supergroup featuring Soundgarden’s Chris Cornell, Pearl Jam’s Jeff Ament, Stone Gossard, and Mike McCready, and drummer Matt Cameron (who plays drums with both Soundgarden and Pearl Jam) – has reunited and will tour for the first time ever since forming in 1990. The band will play five cities, Philadelphia, New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Seattle, in November. A special ticket pre-sale for fans signed up to the Ten Club, Soundgarden, and Chris Cornell email lists begins immediately and runs through July 27th. Tickets will go on sale to the general public at 12:00 PM local time on Friday the 29th. $1.50 from each ticket sold will benefit the Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation and an additional $1.50 will benefit Pearl Jam’s Vitalogy Foundation.
The tour marks the 25th anniversary of the release of Temple of the Dog’s first and only album, a self-titled set that was released by A&M Records on April 16th, 1991. “We wanted to do the one thing we never got to do … play shows and see what it feels like to be the band that we walked away from 25 years ago,” Cornell says of the 2016 tour. Here’s a concert tour that I’m sure quite a few of you readers will enjoy hearing, it seems that Pearl Jam will be hitting the road for just over three weeks of dates and you can read the full press release that came yesterday below. There was no tour poster I am afraid.
